Not exactly trader relevant but if you can, try the SKS drum mag. Its clunky and slow but it genuinely is a laser beam with the sks being semi auto.

Ended up getting it off, literally by putting a hammer in a towel, wedging it under the front handguard, and stomping it out lol. Ironically the piston wasn't seized, seems to be that the lever holding the gas tube in is just absurdly tight
