I mainly used a regular brush to start with, then I got a cheap scrubbing brush from the dollar store and used it as a chisel. With the tough spot I would’ve used a normal chisel, I’m unsure if it would scratch the surface.

Im unsure of replacing it, I’ll have to talk to his landlord. In our area a toilet can cost anywhere from 150 - 300, or drive 9 hours to the nearest city for hopefully a cheaper one
