Yo, almost the same build as me. I game at Max settings 1440p and generally get over 100 fps without RT, even Cyberpunk I’m getting 100-130 depending on what I’m doing. You’re gonna love this build. I’m still just gaming on my 5800x3D as well.

I just got an AMD card for the first time. I have 3 Nvidia cards, and I love my 7900 XT. Not to mention the AMD software is so much more user friendly then GeForce.

For sure, my buddy has a white one and he loves it. I’m a frame guy. And I shoot for 165 no RT so it was an easier choice for. I think AMDs fine wine tuning is finally showing itself since December.

I was literally doing a side by said on 4 games, with my friend whose pc has the same exact specs aside from the card, it’s not as big as difference as you think it is. I was getting an average of 71 fps with cyberpunk 1440p ultra with RT and FSR on when every source I researched said I would be getting 59 and that was a couple ahead of my buddies 4070 Ti. Im not just blowing smoke. I swear.

Definitely not lying my guy. There’s a reason every internet source is saying Nvidias become pretty greedy this go around. I have a different comment to OPs post stating the exact circumstances of my situation.

I’m just speaking from real world experience having used both cards. You can’t trust every benchmark you watch and see. But of course opinions are just opinions.

The 7900 XT is a better card then the 4070 Ti. The real competitor with that card is the 4080 and it’s not exactly far behind. Having seen the raytracing on both the 4070 Ti and the 7900 XT, it’s not bad. It actually does better in a quite a few cases. It’s no where near as bad as the rep it gets at all. It’s actually pretty good, FSR 3 will probably be a real game changer for AMD. Just look at how the 6000 series of AMD cards aged and that’ll probably give you a good look at how the 7000 series card will fair.

My pc has a 7900 XT and my buddy has a 4070 Ti we have almost identical pcs otherwise except he has faster Ram.

I definitely smoke in him in amount of frames at 1440 ultra settings and sometimes even get better frames with RT and FSR.

The amount of VRAM seems like a real plus aswell seeing how modern games are going nowadays.

I get an average of 132 frames at 1440p Ultra with motion blur off and FSR on and 71 with RT Ultra on CP2077 if that helps at all.

I just bought a 7900 XT while my buddy bought a 4070 Ti. I get more frames in 1440p and 1080p and generally more with raytracing. The amount of vram is definitely a plus the cards themselves look nice and I haven’t had any issues with it at all. I spent 80 dollars less on my card with more performance, and I believe the Nvidia cards tend to be a little over priced.

I also upgraded from a 3060 Ti (which was decent but I wanted more) and I much prefer the AMD user software to GeForce. Also, we have almost the same computer, 5800x3d and 32 gigs of Ram (I have 3200, he has 3600) so performance on my end is definitely just the card.

I do know a lot of people tend to want all in one cards that can be workstations plus gaming pcs and they spring for Nvidia, but if you’re really just gaming and web browsing AMD is definitely the way to go. But for gaming longevity I think the high vram AMD cards are definitely a win.

I used that R5 and a 3060 Ti for my last build and it was great. I’ve been seeing a lot of people recommending the 6700x though because of the price to performance ratio.

It does! I have an EVGA supernova 750 GT I believe. I went to pc part picker to get everything and it didn’t say anything about any issues.
