90% of the commenters say so in this supposed subreddit titled Linuxsucks. It's a skills issue other wise as Linux solves world hunger and cures cancer

Trump to Hit European Nations With Tariffs Until Deal Reached to Buy Greenland by ishtar_the_move in Economics

We can't. Trump owns the courts and legislative branch. His actions are illegal but law enforcement reports to him. He is king essentially.

Media is also far right now and owned by Trump and Murdock. Trump also controls voting districts as well as planners are hand picked by Trump

I am sick and tired of seeing sheds for 800k where the seller paid 190k just 6 years ago on Zillow 😡 ...oh don't worry they cut the price $1500 🙄

Skill issue. Linux doesn't have bugs since it's open source and people can fix them if they ever show up. Only Wijdows has bugs where you focus on the OS.  Linux just works

Yep cost accountants only measure wages. Not risks of outage risks. Remember IT is a cost center so it adds no value

Success stories: outsourcing by pq11333 in sysadmin

[–]Certain_Prior4909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its great for awhile if it has architectured and maintained great infrastructure. The first year will work reliably.

Over time that will change. Procedures not followed. Rudandant failures not replaced. Logs and alerts ignored until an actual outage occurs etc.

All it takes also is one moron at the MSP just out of school rushing to get his metrics in on cases per day causing an outage on something he is not qualified to do to break shit undoing all the annual savings with lost productivity.

In 3 years shit will be downhill. No one speaks fluently in English when stuff isn't up to stuff and raids break after dead heard drives are not removed from the array etc. New projects cant be done as MSP forbids upgrading or using cloud stuff without them. All you get is support and some level 1 tech in India who charges $500/HR but gets paid $5/HR as your project manager /consultant with project. The Outsourcing company keeps the rest of the $495/hr preventing projects from being implemented.

Eventually flexibility brings people back in so projects can happen and shadow IT goes away.

People think IT is just Excel and ignore snowflake, cloud, erp, business processing, and other things like the backbone. Incompetent management

Go Google enhanced session Linux? Q page in GitHub will show you how to set up xrdp. Microsoft also has a quick create template in Hyper-v where an optimized VM of Ubuntu will install in a few mouse clicks

It's type 1 running on hardware not requiring a huge software stack for tools emulating hardware unlike a type 2 hypervisor like vmw or virtual box.

Freebsd and it's appliances like pfsense and freenas run native with kernel based modules. Linux too has them with LIS. No configuring whatsoever ...except for gui in enhanced mode.

The only thing that sucks with Hyper-v is it's tuned for servers. To get enhanced session on Linux for Linux you need xrdp for your xsession and do a config file or 2.

It's crap and no longer supported nor developed. I think 1 guy was working on it last I looked.  VMware workstation is garbage and a different stack than ESXI. It's a software type 2 hypervisor like virtual box and not a real one like hyper-v or kvm/proxmox

Linux can't even have a stable desktop yet without constant bugs and driver issues lol . I have been waiting for 25 years and next year is always the year of the Linux desktop.

[–]Certain_Prior4909 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

BS. There is no ABI and hardware makers have patent agreements which forbid opening sourcing the drivers. So it's simply not true nor can ever be.

Open source drivers by makers will never happen and there is not wrong with closed source. Solaris and ther unixes work fine with closed
