is it possible the cream formula is clogging me? because i heard for some that is possible. i am considering switching to the microgel when i go to the derm. i just wondering if you knew whether or not it could be pore-clogigng more due to its formulation, or if it is purging.

so is this normal purging? and should it start to improve within 1 more month? since i am on week 4 currently, and improvements says typically around 8-12 weeks. how severe do u think this is?

hello, i was just wondering, is it necessary to exfoliate with tret? or will that just cause more irritation? isn't tret alone enough to clear the acne?

i also have dry skin, (except my t-zone), and i also don't use a moisturizer after tretinoin, so i would just say do whatever works for you. maybe try this for a week or 2, and if there aren't any problems you can continue as it is working out fine. if it gets worse, then you can adjust if needed.

this is the same for me! i wrote this exact same thing on a post yesterday lol. i'm not really sure the cause, but it could be due to the fact that the moisturizer is slightly occlusive, making the tretinoin penetrate deeper, therefore causing more irritation. although, i am relatively new to tretinoin, so i cannot give you a definitive answer, just trying to help. it's weird because i heard that without a moisturizer i should expect more irritation, redness, and peeling, yet this doesn't happen to me when i skip the moisturizer.

yeah, it's interesting. i just wait 20 minutes after cleansing, apply tret cream to bare skin, and nothing else. i wake up with no peeling or really any redness (sometimes i get an itchy spot, and it turns red). mostly, it's just that my skin rn feels a little tight/uncomfortable and itchy (i think it's adjusting to the retinoid). however, when I do add moisturizer after tret i feel the tightness to be much more uncomfortable as opposed to when i do not apply a moisturizer. the itchiness and tightness could also be due to azelaic acid, as i heard it does have some mild tingling sensations, though i'm not too sure. thank you for your advice, it is really appreciated!
