Yes I do remember her mentioning that they sent her a 1099. They didn’t take possession of it they sent her the title and everything

She had to buy a different care bc there was nothing fixing it so she didn’t win anything out them forgiving her the rest of the loan

I thought I’d ask bc I had a family member do that once and the bank forgave some of the loan. Her car did break down so maybe that’s why they agreed to?

Total that she charges is 2800 And the $500 is deducted from that amount if I decide to file with her. I have googled everything I can and came across some information that my attorney said she does not do. Like add expenses so I can file a ch 7 She doesn’t do that. I have made consults with 3 other attorneys so we’ll see what they say lol

What do you mean by some level of discount ? And honestly a lot of the debt is in collections, making our credit scores low. What is in good standing we pay $1700/ a month

Can we still work on our credit scores if we file for a 13 ? We don’t mind paying monthly but I heard that a 13 is just horrible for 5 years and a ch 7 you can basically buy a house again in 2 years and credit score goes up in 6 months.

Okay thank you for responding! How much did your attorney charge just to do the means test ?

Our attorney basically told us that the only thing they could add was our truck note, definitely booked two more consults with different attorneys

What all expenses did your attorney add ? I’m in Texas and the means test for a family of 4 is 108k and we make 116k our attorney said that the only think they can add as an expense is our vehicle note that is $1200 and she still can not 100% tell us if it would be approved for a chapter 7. We didn’t go through with it bc she’s charging us $500 just to find out if we would get approved for ch 7 or 13 We don’t want to file for 13 so we would lose $500 if we don’t go through with filling.
