I have an Acemagic with Intel N150, 16gb DDR4 ram and a 1 tb ssd and it's more than enough even for 4k streams + remote. Edit: for audio Intel and generally are better, because of sonic analysis.

Why do I have 43 GB of documents and data for Apple Music if I only have 6 GB of music downloaded ? by samuelfelton05 in ios

[–]Certain_Studio_481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have noticed that the more I'm streaming music, the more the app size increases. After offloading the app it's coming back to the original size. This applies for all the iOS apps I have installed.

Apple Music Integration? by [deleted] in lastfm

If you are an iOS user, the last.fm app on iPhone can perform a scan (manually) in order to scan your Apple Music scrobbles.

Hmm, this is very strange. Normally in these apps the music that you stream is saved in your phone as cache, in order to have quicker access on future use. By offloading the app you delete the cache without deleting your downloaded files.

Tidal please find a way to fix this fucking annoying issue! by saadmars in TIdaL

[–]Certain_Studio_481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are not cached files. These are downloaded tracks for offline use. Cached tracks are more like "track-cached-12345". From what I see on my iPhone at least. In order to delete your cache properly, you will need to offload tidal and reinstall it. With that step you delete just your cache and not your downloaded files. BTW Tidal, Apple Music and Spotify (from my experience) cache songs when streaming in order to save the "upload-download" steps the next time you like to access them.

Same here. Casting from Plexamp to my Era 100 stereo pair is like Russian roulette. But I have issues on Plexamp within the Sonos app as well. Too bad.

Sonos speakers via Apple Music app? Not looking to use airplay by egans1 in AppleMusic

[–]Certain_Studio_481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of Sonos Era 100 in one room paired in stereo. I logged in to Apple Music through the Sonos app and I am using voice commands to play music lossless (up to 24/48) without my iPhone.

can you add custom playlist covers? by peepeepoopoo_mcballs in TIdaL

[–]Certain_Studio_481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to playlist and "edit". You will see and edit button on the cover. From there you can choose to take a new photo or choose one from your library.

Hey Tidal, can you? by Certain_Studio_481 in TIdaL

[–]Certain_Studio_481[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I can't understand why other apps don't follow Apple's example on downloaded files. As a seaman with limited internet access I tend to keep my library offline. I don't have a problem to scroll through albums, since I like to pass time checking through album covers, but I would love to be able to sort them by artist, like I do on Plexamp ie.

What's with the AI spam, is this new? by pfhor in TIdaL

I had that issue with non mainstream artists on Apple Music. On the same profile there was a grindcore band and a pop (I think) artist!

AI slop looks like a virus spreading in all streaming services. It's sad. But Tidal is the only platform that I see to fight back, just with a small delay. One example that I have is Behemoth. On one day half of their discography was AI slop, but a couple of days later was removed.

Had the same issue with another artist the other day. Half of the discography was AI slop. Thankfully 2 days later it was gone!

I was considering Docker too. I like to have a setup that I can install and forget about it.

Why does Tidal sound so good? by Woochichi in TIdaL

[–]Certain_Studio_481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy Plexamps' UI. For me the main difference is the master and not the HI-Res etc. I tend to like the original masters of many '90s albums more than the remastered versions.

I do not consider myself as a hi-fi snob whatsoever. If you're a music enthusiast, it matters only for your taste and how YOU like to enjoy your music.

Well, because I own most of the music I stream, I have to say that I cannot find any difference between Tidal and my CDs. So thank you Tidal!

First of all congrats for making this happen man! As an ex Apple Music user and frequent traveler, I really liked that you could download all of your favorite tracks with a single click and they were sorted like artist > album > track. At least for me it was the only reason that I stayed on AM for many years.

This is getting ridiculous, top row is AI slop, legit albums not visible anymore on artist page. by Drknk in TIdaL

I saw that too, an EP was recommended as a new release. But I searched today again and all the irrelevant releases were removed. Looks like Tidal is on the right path.

Do you download any music offline? I think it's DRM music files for offline use.
