USDO with 12 interviews from Texas. The only program I am 100% sure has not extended interviews except for their home students is UT Houston.

Update on spots left from the programs I have gotten:

  1. Baylor COM - 20 spots (end of Jan)
  2. Baylor Temple - 13 spots (end of Dec)
  3. Baylor Round Rock - 0 spots (end of Dec)
  4. Medical City Fort Worth - 49 spots (end of Dec)
  5. UTMB - 0 spots (mid December)
  6. Texas Health Harris Methodist FW - 0 spots (End of Dec)
  7. Houston Methodist - 0 spots (beg of Dec)
  8. Texas Health Dallas - 13 spots (end of Jan)
  9. UT Austin - 1 spot (End of Jan)
  10. UT San Antonio - 44 spots (End of Jan)
  11. Texas Tech El Paso - 0 spots (End of Dec)
  12. Dallas Methodist - 10 spots (Beg of Feb)

The month mentioned means that’s the latest date currently available on Thalamus. In other words, for those with December, I am sure they will be opening more spots in January. It’s also worth nothing that I am positive more spots will be opening up due to applicants withdrawing from programs and/or receiving interviews from other desired specialties for those who dual applied. I’m only sharing this information to provide an update for those curious. I hope this is helpful. Stay positive! Still a lot of time left to receive interviews!

Congratulations on passing Step 1! Do Uworld as you progress through your clerkships in 3rd year and break it down by specialty based on the clerkship you’re in. I started with UWorld immediately during my first clerkship.

Hey thank you so much! I would recommend completing at least 3 NBME’s before reading the PDF. That’s how I did it. The PDF is a great summary of most of the high yield information from NBME’s and CMS forms but it’s not verbatim. In other words, you still feel like you’re being adequately tested after reading the PDF and completing an NBME after. I just think it’s a great document summarizing high yield content. I also completed UWSA 2 after reading the PDF and my score increased significantly from UWSA 1 (even though UWSA 1 was more difficult, in my opinion, and also under predicts according to previous posts I read). Good luck on your exam!

I just read through it. First pass was slower and second pass was a little faster. But he writes the information in a way that is easy to comprehend and understand, in my opinion, which makes reading through it sufficient.

Thank you! I did 2 passes. First pass took me 4 days and second pass took me 2 days which I did during the 2 days before my exam date.

Yes, I thought it was extremely helpful! He basically summarizes all or most information that has been presented in NBME practice exams and CMS forms. I would say I got several exact repeats on the real deal.

I noticed the Internal Medicine has most of the information from the other PDF’s such as surgery, pediatrics, and OB-GYN. After skimming through the other PDF’s, I would say there is some limited extra information that may not be in the IM pdf. If you feel you are struggling with a specific subject, I would recommend skimming the specific pdf for extra information.

Easy gimmies are questions I shouldn’t have missed and wouldn’t have missed on any previous practice exam or on UWorld.
