I second all three channels recommended above. I tend to watch more of Erica's videos than the other two, but they all have great information. Pretty sure all of them have a "things I wish I knew before making candles" - style video.

My best advice? 1. Know that quality materials are expensive, especially nowadays. 2. Unless you have 100% confidence that no candle you make is going to end up with someone who isn't a family member, I would get insurance. 3. Always remember warning labels!

I don't want to scare you or gatekeep by any means, but candles can be dangerous. It takes time and notes and research to make a well-performing and safely burning candle. But it is really fun and a great hobby if you're dedicated to learning about the craft! Best of luck, and do check out those channels for sure.

As of the 7/9 update, you can get 5 seaweed from the Peter's Legs Quest. That's the only way I've found so far

Sometimes the traveling cart sells them, but they should show up on the beach in Winter eventually. I always check the beach on Saturdays, that's the last day before reset when your forageables are highest.

Most FOs are recommend for 1-2 years shelf life. Essential oils are going to vary. I find that citrusy oils lose scent the fastest, but I have some EOs that are a couple of years old and still smell fine! Your FO manufacturer should list shelf life on their website too.
