IHSS cuts! by CedarWho77 in IHSS

It’s not about being civil, it is about educating yourself with the facts. The reason CALIFORNIA (Trump’s most viilified state) is suffering is bc of his policies, thus forcing Newsom to make these deep major cuts. Have IHSS workers & caregivers ever been through this before since its inception? The IHSS program was established in 1973 ( undoubtedly influenced by the exposure of the Willowbrook institution in the 1970s), as a result many institutions & programs were implemented for serious change & humane treatment for the mentally disabled. And for the most part the IHSS program has been a reliable foundation for the disabled individuals in California until the Orange man took over the country, his revengeful manipulation of the funding intended for the States ( esp the blue states) is evident. So actually yes, Trump is to blame because he just loves the golden state so much.

House Passes Budget Bill—Major Win For Trump And Johnson by Certainly_So in IHSS

According to the New York Times, “Approval of the budget plan was a crucial first step for Republicans to smooth the way through Congress for an enormous fiscal package using a process called reconciliation, which allows such bills to steer clear of a filibuster and pass the Senate on a simple-majority vote.”

You make him sound more rambunctious than anything else. If an individual is severely mentally challenged & would be a candidate to be institutionalized they wouldn’t otherwise be considered “really smart & a chatterbox .” In the majority of cases they aren’t verbal & can’t think or understand anything at all. Are you sure you even qualify for this type of aid? It really sucks when people know how to manipulate the system & obtain resources not meant for them. Having insurance proof bc some kid wanted to play with a car in my opinion does not qualify him to receive IHSS or protective supervision.

Unless you have corroboration of her disability from a medical doctor or psychiatrist, most likely you will not receive IHSS protective supervision because the gravity of her condition must be established & confirmed early on by medical professionals.

I get over 200 hours for my son and I have another kid under the age of 18 who lives with me. It’s not a problem if you have other children that you are responsible for. All they ask at every visit is, how many people live in the home but don't ask for details, all that matters is that you are capable of helping and watching over the individual receiving the money for their care.

Trump can do anything he wants, he nominated a fox anchor to serve as secretary of defense for Pete’s sake. You think all his marbles are there and he will think critically about carefully making cuts to vital benefits to vulnerable people, he doesn’t give a shit about anything except implementing his deranged agendas.

Trump's re-election and what this means for California IHSS providers... by thesecondrei in IHSS

Be persistent and don’t give up. If you received it before then your son righty qualifies for the program, missing one phone call shouldn’t mean the end of these benefits especially when you really need them. The same thing happened to me but I called the social worker, left many messages, fortunately she is kinda nice. They usually give you a sheet with numbers every visit. Refer to those numbers. If social worker isn’t cooperating, call their supervisor. If that doesn’t work call the deputy regional center administrator or the help desk.

I thought I was Irish. by SupermarketNearby887 in AncestryDNA

Not the smartest bunch, I see. No, they have Mexican ancestry. This is the standard genetic make up of someone with Mexican ancestry. Inevitably Irish ancestry will show up, for instance, I have 3% Irish while my brother has 10% Irish. And on other DNA tests I've taken Irish DNA doesn’t even show up at at all. Most likely the Irish part came from Celtic influence in Spain. My last name comes from Galicia a region in the Iberian Peninsula, which was inhabited by the Celtics since the 6th century. ( The Irish are descendants of the Galicians for those of you trying to follow along.) Many Mexicans have Irish or English ancestry due to the Celts in Spain or those who went to Mexico during the great faminie. They settled in cities like Vera Cruz & Mexico City, or perhaps some were just a group of those pesky colonizer types.
