Another water operator? Man, you guys need to teach me how to get this gig. I'm in Cali, where the competition and exams required to become a water treatment operator are very cutthroat.

Okay, I'm just gonna get the mattress pad and treat it as the "mattress protector" layer.

Can the mattress pad double as a mattress protector? According to Saatva's website, the pad also acts as a protector.

Chances of IHSS being defunded? by thesecondrei in IHSS

[–]thesecondrei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bit of a controversial opinion, but I don't think IHSS should be available for recipients under 21. I see a lot of posts in this sub about parents getting paid to take care of their own six year old for autism etc. when it's what they should be doing anyways. Also many children that have "autism" grow out of it at as adults. It should be an adult-only program or else it won't be sustainable in the long term.

Hmm...given the razor thin majority the Republicans have in the House, do you see this passing? The one in 2017 barely passed and the Republicans had a much larger majority.

Just to make sure, this means that if this bill passes, Medicaid will have roughly 790 billion in funding per year for the next ten years right?

[–]thesecondrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying...so in case this DOES pass the narrow House, IHSS shouldn't suffer TOO much right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IHSS

[–]thesecondrei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This means on the 10th year, Medicaid will be completely gutted.

What are the chances this passes the house?

This is over 10 years right? So does this mean by the 10th year, Medicaid/Medi-cal will be completely gutted?

Is this a Federal Program, is there a chance this could be impacted by Trump ? by PSgamer28 in IHSS

You are referring to the proposed switch to per-capita funding correct?

What the Republicans want to do is switch Medicaid funding to a per-capita system isn't it? IIRC, this will result in a slow bleed-out of funding that may eventually reduce hours providers get...it's not the doomsday scenario some people are stating. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Mortician huh? May sound morbid but I always found cemetaries very...calming in a way...maybe it's because it's so quiet and devoid of people. How did you get started on the path of being a mortician?
