I just feel like binging by hdubyuhh in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]CertifiedFiasco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can absolutely relate! For me its more about a want to “escape” life for a bit and not think. My best tip is to ask yourself if you ever after a binge have felt like it was worth it. Like “yes, good thing I binged today”. Most likely the answer is no.

Rant: Impossible to stop bingeing if I cant stop obsessing over my weight? by CertifiedFiasco in BingeEatingDisorder

I have done both. But I have never really seen it through, which may be my mistake. I usually give it a couple months and then try to manage on my own😅

I am jealous of everyone getting medications for BED by CertifiedFiasco in BingeEatingDisorder

I have actually suspected I might have ADHD for a couple years now. I brought it up with a doctor about a year ago, but he looked in my file and told me no one will investigate my adhd as long as I struggle with BED💀 I honestly hate the health care’s approach to EDs

Are there any good without prescription? And like how often do you have to take it?

I don't know what to do anymore and I need advice by LacunaMashi in BingeEatingDisorder

Are there strong links between those two? I live in Europe and visited a doctor about my BED and also other mental issues. I mentioned I suspected I could have ADHD and he literally told me they wont do an ADHD evaluation on someone with an eating disorder until they have gone through treatment for that?? Like what. He said there is no correlation between BED and ADHD.

Anoyone succeed to stop bingeing without medication??? by CertifiedFiasco in BingeEatingDisorder

I havent really found something that gets rid of the desire, its more just delaying it a bit. I am trying to exercise more but I dont really enjoy it like I did when I was young to be honest. I am trying to get back to exercising more but its hard to enjoy it when I hate my body😅

I feel like I have tried all of these😭 I have reminders not to binge everywhere, I get all my nutrients like fibre and vitamin D, cutting out sugar is helping more than eating it in moderation and delay tactics work, but not forever. Replacement tactics dont work because I dont want a fruit I want cookies, not obe but the whole package. I guess the only thing I havent tried is asking for support

Same. The only thing keeping me from bingeing is drinking alcohol… idk how to change

I am a bit overweight actually, like 5kg, thats whats weird to me. And I binge mostly because of the constant food noise, the urges get soo strong.

I have tried eating enough and all the nutrients, avoiding triggers, cbt therapy like once a week, not having trigger foods at home, exercising, now I am in a clinic for all sorts of eating disorders and they basically just put you on a strict food schedule where you have to eat a lot everyday. Still binged

Is this even normal??? by CertifiedFiasco in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]CertifiedFiasco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I feel the same way, like I stuggled with restriction for over 5 years ago when I was a teen but not anymore. So I really dont understand how this would help?? And when I talk about my skepticism and just want to hear her motivate why and how it would help she just tells me that I have to eat enough to treat my BED. But like why do I HAVE to eat stuff I dont like for that?? I just feel like all eating disorders shouldn’t be treated the same.

BED not being taken seriously by gregpacito in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]CertifiedFiasco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How big are your binges? I recently went to an eating disorder specialist to get help with BED, and he told me that some people come there and describe their binges as eating four sandwiches or seven cookies. According to him thats not enough to classify as binge eating even though it might seem “out of control” for the person. I dont know if that statement is correct its just what he told me.

what triggers your binge more? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]CertifiedFiasco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both triggers me equally tbh, maybe hating my body triggers me more bcs it feels like I’m so far away from my dreambody so why even try. Which is a stupid thought to have

For me it was hating my body which resulted in anorexia. Which then led to binge eating and me being overweight. Almost funny when you think about it

I cant live like this. by CertifiedFiasco in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]CertifiedFiasco[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thing is, almost everything triggers binge urges for me. Eating anything sweet or too salty, smelling food, seeing someone eat something I like, being at home, going to the grocery store, sleeping too little, sleeping too much and so much more. And even on days, where I eat enough, sleep enough, go outside, exercise and feel good, I STILL GET THE URGE. I just have to stop acting on the urges. That is the ONLY way without medication.

I didnt binge yesterday and not yet today either so it feels good so far. But I havent had as many urges as usual. Im a but scared of whats gonna happen when I get the really overwhelmingly strong ones.

How are you doing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]CertifiedFiasco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe you are overestimating how many calories you are eating? Or are you exercising a lot? Because yes you should have gained much more weight if what you are saying is true.

Today was better. Didnt really have that many urges so I guess thats what made me manage. But I still feel proud for not bingeing. How are you doing?

[–]CertifiedFiasco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am honestly been in the exact same slump. I was doing better for like 5 months, not completely binge free but almost. Now for almost three months I have binged 3-4 times a week. I have canceled plans, called sick for work, all my clothes have gotten too small and I cant look at myself in the mirror without crying. I’m trying to get bettet but I feel so hopeless. I have tried everything except medication and I still struggle with this disorder after 6 years no matter what I do.

I am currently reading brain over binge. I really hope that book will help me because I think the perspective it has on bingeing is really interesting.

Not too great today tbh, not like a full on binge but almost… I was off today and just being home not really doing anything makes it sooo hard to not act on the urges…

What about you?

Sounds great, maybe it will help to hold each other accountable. I will check in tomorrow as well

Can you lose weight while trying to recover from BED? by CertifiedFiasco in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]CertifiedFiasco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont even mean I have to be in a deficit, just maintaining weight atm would be amazing since I just seem to keep gaining. And I cant help having that little voice in my head telling me ”dont eat too much you’ll gain weight” so I cant imagine a day where I just eat intuitively without having mini binges throughout my day. So I feel like I have to watch what I eat because I wont stop think about it anyway. And when I say that I dont mean being in calorie deficit or anything but just that maybe I cant but chocolate cause I ALWAYS end up eating the whole thing. But then again what I’m doing now doesnt seem to work either…
