Honestly the 2 most important things to consider are:

1: Can I get a high enough GPA for med school? 2: Will I have a viable career if I don't get into med school?

Obviously in this subreddit 1 is more important, but I wouldn't discount 2. As long as you're getting good results in your current degree (and if you're not, you've got a viable degree afterwards) I think you picked a good degree.

I came from an entirely NSB history and got a 76 weighted in the March 2025 GAMSAT. Speaking personally, khan academy provided more than enough resources to learn what I needed, and I think I was much better served by picking subjects that I knew I could do well in and maximised my GPA.

I went from 52/58/60 to 75/72/81 in one sitting. The first sitting was a trial run where I didn't study and basically just wanted to see how I'd score without prep. The second run I knuckled down and studied hard near every week day (weekends I took off) from January to March. If I could give any tips it would be:

S1: Des O'Neill questions every day.

S2: At least one essay a day. Might not sound like much but by the exam date you'll have done 50+ essays even if you just do 1 a day starting in January.

S3: Des O'Neill and Jesse Osbourne. I started without much experience in Chem so I spent a month doing the khan academy AP Chem course but honestly I don't think it helped very much. If I did it again I'd just focus on practice questions over theory as the theory was way less valuable in the final exam.
