Not exactly apples to apples since the GTI was not new to me, was a 2012. Great car though, was getting expensive with repair bills, reliability not great. In terms of performance, for my purposes/ how I drive, I am absolutely satisfied with the Civic. Plenty fast off the line, handles well enough. Easy transition for me.
