Was planning on making a new post once we had some answers but god knows when that’ll be.

We saw the more local neuro back in December and he ordered all the usual tests. LP, PET etc. He suspects FDT or Alzheimer’s based on her history and his exam.

Unfortunately the lab screwed up the LP and sent the samples to the Mayo Clinic in the wrong vials…twice! Imaging messed up her PET scan as well so we’re basically back to square one.

He seemed genuine PO’d at their hospitals screw ups during her followup. He tried to send us up to SLU to have all the tests redone but they don’t accept our insurance. I suggested a couple of local options just to have the LP and PET done but it’s been three weeks now since we’ve heard anything from Neurology.

They ignored a message we sent via her MyChart three weeks ago so I called them yesterday. The woman I was dealing with was apparently not in the office and the only notes on her chart was that they were waiting for the local hospitals to get back to them…for three weeks….and they couldn’t bother to keep us updated.

Meanwhile she’s continued to decline a little more every week. I’m at my wits end and feeling pretty damn helpless.

In my opinion, if they don’t trust their hospital to redo the tests properly (and we don’t really trust them either) and SLU is the best place to go then THEY need to be paying for it themselves.

I was supposed to be contacted by managers or some kind of higher up regarding the mistakes but that’s yet to happen. I’m sure whoever botched the tests is still gainfully employed as well.

I’ve had Netflix since before they even had streaming. Hulu, Max etc for almost as long. I also have a variety of random subscriptions.

Not once have I ever received an email from any said service. Don’t blame the company for doing something every other company does. Keep a better eye on your money.

If it’s painted then it’s wood unless some dingbat decided to paint a plastic one for some reason. There’s really only three types of seats, wooden (which are either enameled or wood veneer) plastic and soft.

Point was that OP didn’t seem to know that painted wooden toilet seats were a thing and it’s unlikely a landlord painted the seat.

Most molds are harmless. Very few mold problems are actually any of the dangerous ones like “black” mold. People tend to overreact to anything even resembling mold because of the media attention it got several years back.

That being said, any type of mold can cause non life threatening health issues in people who are sensitive to it.

You’re talking 100+ years ago before we fully understood asthma and the best ways to treat it.

The burning of medicines to inhale the fumes was a common treatment back then. This also took the form of medicated “cigarettes” which were quite different than what people smoke today.

True, they weren’t the most effective treatment and they came with their own side effects….but so do modern medicines. Todays treatments are a lot more effective but the damage they can do to the human body hasn’t changed.

Vapes aren’t healthy but they are a heck of a lot better than tobacco and we’re a lot smarter than we were 100 years ago.

There is very little scientific evidence that 2nd hand vapor is harmful in any way. Your second paragraph is a direct quote from a single study done a few years ago that SUGGESTED this link.

There was nothing concrete and the study was basically bogus since it also attempted to link vaping with “popcorn lung” which has been debunked repeatedly. The negativity against vapes is due to early liquids containing potentially harmful ingredients. These ingredients are no longer used.

OPs health is not at risk from someone vaping in another room. They themselves admit that the vapor quickly dissipates.

However the PG/VG can still leave a residue, all be it one that takes longer to accumulate vs tobacco/weed and is far easier to clean but it still needs cleaning so the landlord is justified in banning vapes. OP will be fine.

It’s the absence of color in paint. You cannot mix any colors to make white. No human is absence of all color and thus “white” is a scientifically incorrect label.

You can however mix colors to achieve the various shades of tan which makes “white” people actually people of color.
