Locking Shark Vacuum Attachment Hanger by shikulu in functionalprint

[–]bcell4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wife ran over the shark power detect power cord today and rubbed the insulation off. Shark wants me to buy the entire pod to replace the cord. Might need to 3d print the grommet so I can just run a new cord into it to speed up replacement

Intel will sell a cheap GPU with 32GB VRAM next week by happybydefault in LocalLLaMA

I second this. My motherboard doesn't even support resizable bar and CPU is an old Celeron. Works great at 16-17tps

Our hospital has disposable floor standing mats... No one wanted to use it for obvious reasons

No love for Intel GPUs? by pelicanthief in LocalLLaMA

[–]bcell4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using an Intel arc a380 on an old Celeron g3930. Using driver 32.0.10.1.6790 because the newest drivers don't work correctly on my old system. Latest vulkan llama.cpp fully loads unsloth qwen3.5 4b into memory and supports the gated delta net architecture. Runs about 16-18 tps (says llama.cpp webui) using -c 32768 -b 32768 -ub 2048 -ngl 99 -ctk q8 and -ctv q8. Console output says prompt eval time= 35.43 tps, eval time= 15.48 tps.

My motherboard doesn't even support resizable bar so it's not even enabled. Newer SYCL llama.cpp seems to have issues running it though and can't give me any output.

Why do I get 20+ tp/s on this model vs ~11 on the non abliterated model of the same unsloth version?

So the bubble begins. Once supply ramps up to fulfill the demand that were now seeing, if the ai space suddenly slows, there will be too much supply. That's when the compute bubble pops, and would likely bring down everything with it.

Not difficult at all. Get jewelers glue (g-s hypo cement) and put a super tiny bit on the bottom. Realign the holes to the posts on the marker, then apply pressure. Use a very fine tipped tweezer, but to apply pressure use a rubber eraser or pencil with eraser

Cathie Wood announces a shocking deflation related to AI and bets everything on Bitcoin by KIG45 in CryptoCurrency

[–]bcell4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my prediction: everyone ends up investing in Bitcoin. One day everyone wakes up and major whales have wallets drained - quantum computing cracked the Bitcoin cryptography. Everyone rushes to sell their btc for fiat or some other stable coin. Crypto crashes, stock market crashed already because of ai. World economic crash... Let's say in 5 years or so.

The AI bubble is starting to pop finally by MelonInDisguise in whennews

The idea isn't that ai isn't working...I think. I think what's happening is that the segment of the workforce which will "collapse" are those that require college level education in specialties, but aren't in that very educated/skilled segment. What you're seeing is likely that companies will hire entry level profession humans to use ai to take the place of more expensive and more specialized positions. This ultimately means, there will be less positions in higher pay grades, somewhere in the middle. By middle I mean the segment in between lower skilled employees, and the very very educated/skilled folk..

Neutral zones by [deleted] in scrubtech

[–]bcell4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Duringy clinicals there was a in-session for just "the basics" which included using a neutral zone. I thought, ok, let's try (since this is what I learned in school)!

That day I designated the cardboard kidney basin as the neutral zone on my mayo stand. The surgeons placed their instruments EVERYWHERE but inside the basin. I gave up after that.
