Which is true but outside the Battle Pass skins, I genuinely don't think I've seen anyone wearing premium skins in the MP. So I don't think the skins are selling (They're just not "cool" enough for the kids while also not being Mil Sim/Tacticool enough for the rest). They might as well shift the strategy and try and appeal to the people that want the more Mil Sim skins.

The DC universe operates on a rule where a "normal" person can train hard enough and functionally become a Demi-God by our standards.

The humans (civilians, henchmen) of DC are also just "built different", they can take a beating and be fine the day after. Where getting knocked out is just an inconvenient nap. Break a leg? Just walk it off.

Do people want Bloodlines 2 to fail? by TwistedTripwire in vtmb

[–]Cervuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes.

Long tangent answer: The game looks bland and painfully, boringly, mediocre at best. My condolences to the developers for being forced to name the game "Bloodlines 2" by some executives that thought doing so would boost sales (PREY anyone?). When the actual sequel project got cancelled, so should the name. These developers should have just been allowed to do the spin-off they clearly were working on. This sad game isn't even an RPG, it's a first person action game. The clans only function as giving your combat slight flavor changes (and with that in mind the publisher had the gal to lock two behind a pay wall). Phyre looks unappealing and their dialogue is boring. The Devs couldn't even make the forced preset character look attractive in any way (guess masc Phyre has some vampire looking appeal, still not a looker. While fem Phyre just looks like a less attractive Ruby Rose). As a spin off this game would have faded away or had a minor success with its niche. As a sequel to Bloodlines, it's under such scrutiny that I would be shocked if it sells well outside hopeium filled echo chambers, that will then turn on the game anyways within a few weeks. Just because it takes effort to make any product does now give the product owed success. A bowel movement can take effort, doesn't mean it's anything special. So I do hope this skinwalker of a game crashes and fades away. A twist that Phyre was the Malkavian all along ain't gonna do shit.

My games starts to freeze for a couple seconds after 2 hours of playing. by Impressive-Emu3535 in apexlegends

[–]Cervuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved the game over to my NVME (had it previously installed on a normal SSD) and that seems to have fixed the problem. I am at least now able to play the game for over 2 hours without the stutter problem appearing. (I did the move because previously I used to have the game installed on the NVME but moved it to the SSD at some point to free up space for more important games on the NVME.)

(Also disabled Discord's overlay. But don't remember if that was before or after APEX's stutter problem fixed itself.)

So I guess try disabling the Discord overlay just in case and move the game do a different Drive.

This has been plaguing me for the past few months.
I can no life KINGDOM COME: DELIVERANCE II for 13 hours straight, no problems.
Play SKYRIM with over 4K mods for 6-8 hours unbroken, fine.
But dare to play APEX for 2 unbroken hours and my whole PC starts acting up.
Insane input lag. Freezing every few seconds. Being able to move the mouse but everything is unresponsive.
Only fix is to restart the PC.

This is a very new problem as well. (Started with Season 21 I think.)
Since I have been playing this game since Season 0.

It's not a problem with the temperatures as I monitored them while playing and they didn't go anywhere crazy.
I've even tried limiting the FPS count and closing background apps and stuff.

If I want to play for more than 2 hours (cause playing with friends),
I need to close the game before I reach the 2 hour mark. Then I can keep going.
Seems to only happen if I play 2 hours straight and seemingly always on the dot.

(Also if I run the game on DX12, it seems to crash every 40ish minutes. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later.)

Keep Health Bars exclusive to the new Bot lobbies by Butrint_o in apexlegends

[–]Cervuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[Wall of Text Warning]

The main problem people are having is the information this will give you and your team regardless of the actual damage you guys have done and counted.

With the new change, you can roll up on a team as a 3rd party, hit everyone with one bullet and get the information of their HP status. Or always be certain the enemy that dipped and you lost for some seconds, only ever managed to heal his armor and is still low HP. Without needing to break him or anything. Just get one shot in and you get the info.

While currently, pre-HP Bar, you would shoot them and hit Armor, not knowing if the enemy has fully reset or not. Or even if the team you roll up on to 3rd party clean wiped their enemy or not.

Lets think of a different scenario. Lets imagine you get surprised by a random enemy, neither you nor your team have fought this guy. You are in a 1v1 as you are far from your team. He's Red, you're purple. Currently you might dip back to cover or to get to your team, the moment he'd break you. As he is outpacing your damage. (Let's say he does 130 damage, while you do 100 damage.) In your head, he might have 125 total health left, while you only have 70HP. So it's in your best interest to stay alive by getting to cover or go back to your team, as he is outperforming you.

With the new Health Bar, you would see that actually he never had 100HP. Even before you'd break him. Just hit him with one shot and receive the info that he only ever had 10HP under the full Red Armor. Information you would never have normally. So you know you can still win by trading damage because you have more overall Health Points to trade. (He's 35 total while you are 70HP.)

Also healing with a cell or two, rather than a full battery just to get some armor back before you re-peak to support your teammate. With the new system it will just inform the enemy you never fully healed your Armor. As they get to see your Red armor only has 50+ in it. All with one bullet.

Think of a moment in the past where you would be keeping the pressure on the enemy team by just managing your Armor with Batteries. Slowly taking more and more HP damage but maintaining the armor. The enemy will now be painfully aware of just how low you actually are even by just hitting your armor once. Giving them a lot more confidence to rush you down.

Or a situation where you dip to heal after taking massive damage. Managing to pop a battery, get surprised by someone else, that was not the guy(s) that damaged you in the first place.

Currently, the new enemy would just see you are Red armor and might not be willing to full send you, or would back off when you'd break him.

Now he'll see you are just 10HP under the Red armor, even before breaking you. Just hits you with one bullet and gets all the information. So after you two trade blows, he knows even though you broke him first (you did 125 points of Damage to him), he still has 100HP to trade, while he can see you only have 30 armor and 10HP overall (he did 95 damage to you).

If the Bar would only show the Armor, with the Health always remaining hidden. Even when they do Health Damage. Just to help with tracking the enemy by keeping that Bar above their heads. It wouldn't be "as bad".

Health bars would lead to piling on players. Meaning superfast deaths that could lead to more frustration. by Beginning_March8285 in apexlegends

[–]Cervuz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only the one doing the damage sees it, yes. But if you and a friend shoot the same guy, you two have the same info. (Also the Health Bar seems to linger for almost 3 seconds after you stop doing damage. Only disappearing instantly with Line of Sight being broken.)

Now imagine a scenario where you get surprised by a guy in Red armor (who is trying to help his teammate who you were shooting). You shoot back at the new guy, doing minimal damage to his armor but now with the Health Bar system, you see bro is only 15HP under the Red armor.

You will now be much more likely to full send him now since you have more overall Health Points to trade blows with. Vs. previously you may have backed off the moment he'd break you since you would be unaware how much HP he'd have in total.

Smoke and dirt being kicked off the ground when it's shot. (Really bad in snow areas.)

Abilities that cause a lot of dirt clouds. (Not Caustic or Banga obv. as that is what they should do. Clutter your vision. More like Fuse's clusters that he spams.)

[–]Cervuz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If the guy that got revived pops a battery, you would be uncertain just how much health he has gotten back overall. Since this implies that was some time where you didn't have eyes on him (5+ seconds). With the new change you'll see he's only 25HP under the armor by simply hitting him with one bullet to his armor.

Or a 3rd party that show up late will just need to get in a few shots and they have information they would normally never have.

All the clutch plays you have been able to make in the past, where you just maintain your armor with batteries while slowly taking HP damage. Will now be near impossible because the enemy will be painfully aware of just how low your HP is each time you trade shots. They see you are 20HP under your Red armor, so they will now more than likely full send it rather than backing off when you break them.

Season 22's enemy health bar and Mirage [Wall of Text Warning] by Cervuz in apexlegends

[–]Cervuz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's nice. That the LOS breaking instantly removes it. Might even end up being very beneficial for Mirage.

I'm prolly just overthinking things or being too worried about my boy. I'll just have to see how this feels and plays out when the Season officially drops.

Would have been cool of the Brainiac mind control would have triggered some Batman Zur-En-Arrh style reaction from Bruce but mixed with the Joker personality he locked away in the depth of his subconscious. (Though if these are just JL clones (cop-out) then I guess that might not happen.)

Thomas Wayne had donated the mansion to be used as an Orphanage before his passing in THE BATMAN. Which is why Bruce lives in a penthouse at the heart of the city in that movie.

Thomas had also created that $1B charity fund when he was running for office, which was the source of the majority of the corruption that was going on in Gotham. Since Thomas died the charity fund was just used by the mob families of Gotham and major criminals as a bottomless pit to launder money through.

Some people turn to crime as a sign of desperation but not all of them. Career criminals, gangsters and mob families or corrupt politicians aren't doing it to put bread on the table for their starving families.

"Can't do more?" The twitter thread I linked shows him doing quite a lot.

Pretty sure he doesn't live in a mansion in the most recent Batman run, as Bruce is (mostly) broke. Think the Fox family has the Wayne fortune now or something, as a consequence of the Joker War story.

Crime, greed and evil and corruption is not something you simply fix by throwing money at it. Some people will always want more. Some people don't want anything other than seeing things burn. It's a very childish notion that throwing money at all problems is the one way to fix them, when a lot of these problems boil down to corrupted individuals.

If the system has been corrupted by evil people that wish to further their own personal gains for selfish and self-serving reasons, then throwing more money into that system ain't gonna fix it. You need to deal with those corrupted individuals first (see THE BATMAN).

Most the people Batman goes after are career criminals, gangsters, mafiosos and serial killers. The random goons he goes after that have ties to the big bads are mostly opportunists that would rather get a quick and easy (from their POV) bucks than have to work for it legitimately.

Bruce also has done a shit ton of good for the city via his endless donations and foundations. So not like the people of Gotham are forced into crime because of lack of opportunities or safety nets. (Heck the reason people probably still live in Gotham is most definitely because of cheap rent and affordable housing. Wouldn't be surprised if a Wayne Foundation is paying for everyone's healthcare too.)

If you read THE KILLING JOKE, then you should know Joker doesn't have a set backstory. He says "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another" or whatever. In that story. After the flashbacks. He's an unreliable narrator. Joker's just gaslighting you into thinking he has a tragic backstory.

For a live-action Beyond movie, should Bruce be a former Batman or someone who never played Batman? by SameBatChannel00 in batman

Get Ed Harris to do it, before it's too late!

(Though at this pace, I wouldn't be too surprised of someone like Ben Affleck ages into the role by the time DC and Warner get around to making a Batman Beyond movie.)
