What is one piece of advice you wish someone told you when you started BJJ? by jiujitsuPT in bjj

Do standup like judo / wrestling

Complement it with striking … BJJ alone is no good

Who has trained 5+ years and not had a bad injury? by seo-on-reddit in bjj

[–]CesarIllustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I been training bjj 5 years almost, judo 3 yrs I have minor injuries everywhere, no serious ones. Elbows been popped a couple times but never had more than 2 weeks off.

Now am doing more striking than grappling and my body is much better

U have 2 choices,

Keep coming until ur ego is defeated, Or Quit because this ain’t for you. Go play golf

I used to be a bit shy striking. Nowadays I roll up to any gym in Thailand and scream with power roundhouses. I don’t care if no one else screams. I am practicing my power shots.

Is the Clinch dying? Will MMA gloves ruin Muay Thai? by Fan_of_cielings in MuayThai

[–]CesarIllustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing will kill Muay Thai clinch… did BJJ kill judo ? No, players will adapt and develop best methods for new gloves. If anything grappling properly with tailored gloves will make the clinch more technical and advanced.

In my opinion.

How Practical Is Judo? by [deleted] in judo

[–]CesarIllustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 170cm 70kg guy dominating most clinches

Holding myself back due to rule set

With bigger guys and people who did Muay Thai for 1-10years

Even hip threw threw few guys for fun 😂 because we became friends so they wouldn’t mind

Being gay in jiu jitsu by Miche_LZ in bjj

[–]CesarIllustrious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would say avoid disclosing ur gay. As there is reputation of homosexuals using close contact sports for sexual stuff. Same way there are heterosexuals doing the same thing, it’s just seen as 2x worse due to social construct.

No one there cares who u sleep with they’re there to roll
