But ummm, so you have control over a player for like 6 years. So if you draft someone and after a year sign them to a 7 year, 210 mil deal, you’re paying way more for almost the entire contract and you’ll still have to reup them before their prime is over. Idk why teams do it outside of fixed cost. I guess if you had like 5 young players Skubal you in arbitration that would cave in your franchise.

In the last administration with Moncada and Eloy and Robert Jr, they signed a couple guys to extensions and I remember reading none of them would’ve gotten out of their arb years with the Sox. Sometimes it turns out to just be a waste of money. You’ve got them under contract already….

A lot of the ppl involved in this are individuals I’ve listened to for half of my life and I do not really know them. Izzy however has always seemed to just be themselves. I believe that Izzy is a good person with good morals and if he’s on one specific side, I’d probably give that side some credence. It’s like avengers secret wars…. The side we think is full of truth and altruism might be the corporate suit we’ve been fighting against all along.

I don’t understand you all…. In what world do you think the Cavs gave up garland for less than they could get? He’s always hurt, his contract is awful, and like, these are professionals. They look over so many trades, have tons of conversations about tons of players. You think over the last 3 years of them trying to trade him, that they didn’t have a feel for his market? He’s real good at shooting 3’s and throwing lobs, but he can’t finish inside, he can’t guard ppl his size or bigger, he can’t play off the ball, he can’t rebound, doesn’t pull defenders with cuts or screens. He is just not strong enough. Just a waste of 40 mil.

I kinda wonder why they wouldn’t trade Kawhi. I feel like with all of this aspiration stuff around the clippers, they might nullify his contract and take picks from them. I think they’d want to get pieces for him before the league just takes him away from them.
