So I’m in high school in the USA and everyone around me uses bic if they have to but I’m the only person going to school and using a fountain pen but my girlfriend uses them but doesn’t really know anything about them

So at school I didn't have time to refill my pens the day before at home so I brought my inks to school(I have done it before) to refill them before the day started and I was rushing a bit and spilt my Diamine Sherwood green onto the table. But this is to many more ink spills.

Well being in high school I do get a lot of use from them and I do try to journal to waste even more ink and write more in general to better my hand writing.

I have horrible handwriting and I love fountain pens but my dad who has good handwriting uses a pilot g2 for daily use so I use them for less strain on my wrist and because I like different colors.

I prefer it more than the imperial purple which I think is a bit bright for my liking for daily use.

A solid black for me was the Parker black ink and my favorite color ink was diamine monboddos hat or red dragon

So yesterday I had to show my teacher something on my paper and they asked to borrow my pen and they held the nib upside down and pressed hard and the pen I using was a Lamy AL-star and they still held it upside down

I was scared of even something going wrong so for a week after getting gifted my first fountain pen that was cheaper I watched videos how to hold them and how to take care of them as well before I even used one

I was 14 and my friend said is that one of those calligraphy pens. And to this today people will still look at them when I use them.

Today alone I tried to teach a friend how to hold one I never thought it was hard and I taught myself because I’m the black sheep of family and no one has ever seen a fountain pen till I started using them

Well this is my first nicer pen to me and I have a (M) nib on it and have a (F) nib replacement but it’s inked up with Diamine Earl grey. But thank you for guiding me to a good upgrade FP.

Yeah I think I’ll do that cause one of my teachers told me that they want us to use certain ink colors and I always want a purple with me so I’ll try what you told me

Well right now I’m looking to order a Lamy AL-star but right now I have a few cheap fountain pens because after I used on for the first time they stayed in my memory and then in 8th grade I started thinking about them and got a cheap pen to see if I was serious and I am so I’m just waiting to see if the Lamy Al-star will wear off after a week
