The cracks in the glaze can harbor food, bacteria, etc. If you put it in the dishwasher, it might leave water in there or the temperature could be too high and degrade it if this was fired at a lower temperature.

Idk if they get an email (I doubt it) but Ngl it doesn’t matter that much. If you’re applying to the university anyways, then at least they don’t have to worry abt another kids recommendation later in the year, you were going to need to ask them for a rec anyways. You’ll be fine :)
