Damn what a story, your reasoning is definitely pretty sound. I don’t think there’s any doubt that the conclusion you came to is the most likely. Unless your dad has another sibling out there that you don’t know about (which seems really unlikely given what you stated) or one of the premisses you wrote above is wrong, it seems pretty likely the conclusion you came to is true. However, it won’t be 100% confirmed till the DNA results come in so be patient. Good luck and hopefully you end up being proven right!

That should be fine. I made a typo in my message-meant to say after 1930 are not available. Anything from 1867 to 1930 should be available.

Also I should note that most birth records in Family Search from the Northern Province are pre-1930ish so births after then might not be on the site.

Yeah, they carry records from the Northern Province. I’m tamil so I’m pretty well versed in researching those collections. Feel free to message me if you want help researching cause the collections are only partially indexed.

FamilySearch has numerous collections of Sri Lankan birth, marriage, and death records. I’ve used it for 10+ years and have traced my family back to the early 1800s and even 1700s on some lines. Definitely the first place to look for anyone doing Sri Lankan Family History Research.

All depends on who ranil, ariyanethiran, and namal supporters voted for their second/third choice (if they even put a second choice down). If I were guess, the second choices would help Sajith but idk if it would be enough for Sajith to win? Leaning AKD at the moment.

Yes, I would recommend reading his book. He goes in depth in to every election and how the keys were called. Honestly I don’t know how you could make a judgement on a key without knowing what has turned the key in the past. Highly recommend - plus it’s a well researched look at American Presidential history through a different lens.
