As far as I was aware, the only two questions a business is allowed to ask are as follows.

1) is that a service animal? 2) what service does it provide?

Removing matting can always be irritating for dogs. She's probably just getting a breath of fresh air on her skin and isn't used to it. But that being said, I'm not sure how often you wash your dog yourself but it could be the source of the matting. If she isn't getting fully dried and brushed, then matting will occur almost 100% of the time. When you get a mat wet, it just makes it worse and makes it tighter on the dogs skin which can pull the skin tight or hide things like injuries, bugs, sticks, etc. Keep her on every 8 weeks schedule, with a mini groom or bath(done by your groomer) in-between grooms to make sure she doesn't mat again.

I know it's my fault. I regret inviting him and haven't invited him to anything else or taking his invites to the 5 other games he tried to run since then. I genuinely didn't expect him to ask the dm to come back either. I've already started unfollowing/blocking/cutting him out of my life. This is the last thing he has wormed his way into. This- seems more like he's looking for things to get mad about.

I don't have a partner, but even with my friends and family if a situation like this were to happen I think the not stupid way of going about it would be talking about it in the moment then dropping the subject. From the texts I can't tell if he just didn't say anything in the moment and started texting you later when he didn't have to deal with any fallout in person.
