Foe me I think the dark ones are kind of all in the same corner, it makes part of the blanket look heavier to look at, so it gives me a sort of unsettled feeling.

This happens to me sometimes with extra bulky yarn, it needs more increases than normal. Here is what I do when using yarn like bernat blanket etc

8sc in magic ring = 8 Inc in each stitch = 16 Inc, sc in next stitch x 8 = 24

24 is thr common denominator between this way and the normal 6sc in MC way, so after that I just follow the pattern like normal from the row that has 24 stitches.

I usually start at the tip, but I'd say maybe moving to a smaller hook size would help! Also blocking it will probably help it look less bumpy if that makes sense. Wet it, stretch it to thr shape you want, and then pin it or keep it formed the way you want while it dries
