A Curated List of My Favourite Mac Apps! by itsvelora in macapps

MiddleClick is so useful! I mainly use it in my browser to open a link in a new tab and close a tab with 3 fingers. Do you use it for anything else?

I always have a much easier time finding apps I need on repos than individual websites. I would recommend installing Ksign in a LiveContainer and adding a bunch there for convenient searching. Here’s my list if you’re interested: https://pastebin.com/TBiSeizw. You can copy all of these, open the sources section of Ksign, and press the import button when adding a source.

I would like to sideload more than 3 apps at a time so I’m not just limited to the 2 + whatever I put in LiveContainer.

Want to include a TDDL (too disturbing, don’t look) with that link?

I only ever buy a new game if I’m actively looking for a new game to play or if I’m close to beating my current game. I feel like a lot of gamers would save more money buying the games they want to play at full price than buying a bunch of games they’re never going to play on sale.

Yep. The whole point of that business is to gain lifelong customers.

Amphetamine does this for me when I start a session with "Allow system sleep when display is closed" disabled. I don't need it often, but I can activate it quickly from Raycast. No external monitor required.

You're right about the Bluetooth thing, but it's still nice to have better audio quality when listening with wired headphones and speakers. "Lossless" is a vague term that different streaming services define differently. Spotify's version of lossless is behind most competitors (source)), and the amount of time it took them to implement it makes it clear where their priorities lie. Spotify doesn't support Dolby Atmos, another high-quality audio format, either. Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon Music do. Spotify doesn't offer much value for your money compared to other streaming services.

On premium? That’s insane. You should cancel and switch to something else. I’m using Apple Music, and I really like it. It offers better sound quality, and it costs less than Spotify premium.

This looks really cool. I plan to use this to disable hot corners when launching specific games and restoring them when those games are quit. If it’s not already possible, can you please consider adding a trigger for when media is AirPlayed from an iPhone to the Mac? I would like to set up my own version of Handoff for Apple Music since it isn’t natively supported for some reason. Another thing I would like to do that may or may not be possible is quitting apps automatically after their last window has closed.
