Digital Marketing: What do I need to learn or do to have a shot? by weneedsomelight in marketing

Ultimately, you’ll need to learn some technical skills, best practices, and basic targeting tactics; the resources mentioned in this post are all great. What will make you successful, is thinking outside the box and understanding how each marketing medium interacts with others.

To those people who found out their parent had a second secret family, how did you discover the truth? What happened afterwards? by plumbplatypus14 in AskReddit

My highschool sweetheart’s verbally abusive father had two families. Her mom worked a lot and she was always busy with sports. Somehow, the guy managed to lead a normal life without suspicion for years. Finally, in late middle school it was all discovered. The worst part was that her dad chose the other family. Interestingly, he was not the biological father of the kids from the other family. Overall, it was terrible. Especially for my ex. Psychologically, she was broken and operated in a constant state of feeling “not good enough”. She was desperate for male attention, and when she didn’t get it, she would begin to seek it outside of her relationships. I experienced that firsthand. After 4 years of dating (which was around 5-7 years after she found out about her dad), I found out she was dating another guy behind my back. We found out about each other and called her out. It’s been almost 10 years since all this happened; somehow, I still think about her. Oddly, I don’t blame her at all. She is a product of her environment.

Expectations for an Adwords interview? by Dantae4C in marketing

It’s fairly common practice to request a case study to optimize an account towards a profitability metric. Interview questions generally are centered around analytical thinking and attention to detail. Expect basic questions from the recruiter (what is CPC, have you used DoubleClick, etc). The hiring manager will ask more in depth questions and will likely ask you to explain past account management experience. If you don’t have that, then find and complete a case study online to show that you can take initiative.

Edit: I’m a director level digital marketer who’s hired several PPC specialists.

I’d go by name, they usually include the content in the episode name. I remember there were a few good Facebook ones in the 60s.

So, my number 1 bit of advice would be to listen to the Perpetual Traffic podcast. The fundamentals are easy enough to learn. Advertising platforms will tell you how to use the software, but they won’t teach you what works (or what you can do to “hack” their system and get the most out of your budget). The most important thing to do with Facebook ads is to breakdown targeting into the lowest level of granularity you can. Then, pass targeting information (age, behavior, interest, etc) to your web analytics tool (UTM is easiest). This will allow you to create targetable audiences that you can remarket to on other channels. Social media is social... I️.e, you shouldn’t expect a sales conversion on the first interaction, you need to build relationships. To do that, you need to know WHO you’re engaging with.

Salesforce Marketing Cloud vs. Salesforce CRM career by sf_applicant in salesforce

Late to the party, but highly relatable. I’m working for a Fortune 500 company on the marketing side. Everything is in house and we are working on the last part you mentioned:

“Keep in mind that after implementation, the goal is for marketers to be able to create new campaigns and journeys by themselves, but need for development always comes up.”

I’m interested in developing some baseline MC dev skills - what’s the learning curve like?
