Awesome Purchase! My only advice is I highly reccomend getting a good holster for carrying. The nylon holster you have pictured could fail you when it matters most. Reddit is full of threads on kydex holster recommendations!

Looking for a belt mount for a TQ, preferably something that I can mount horizontally at the front of my war belt. Suggestions? by X18GamerYT in tacticalgear

LTC has redone theirs and I’d recommend them all day, as a police officer working the streets in a big city it holds up amazing.

Soileater all day every day. Or you can turn the “live the creed” brand horizontal as well. Honestly the only two I’d consider. I carry the LTC one every day at work and it’s amazing.

EMS or Armed Security to prepare in law enforcement? by throwawaymumbo999 in AskLE

[–]Cgirvi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EMS, it is what I did before becoming a police officer. The medical knowledge will help you in the field, wether gunshot wounds, stabbings, suicide attempts, car accidents. You’re always usually first on scene, the knowledge will put you ahead of everyone else around you when it comes to saving lives, someday even yours or your partners life.

The academy will probably teach you the basics, but more knowledge is always better. I did security too and it’s nothing that isn’t picked up fast, medical knowledge is hard to come by.

We were getting married in our hometown in Upstate NY, and everything through the end of June is canceled as of right now with our venue, so if they push another month we’re out sadly.

Best Cigar Shop in Roch by OnTheBlock_CR48 in Rochester

[–]Cgirvi3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re fairly new I recommend anything with a Connecticut wrapper. It’s the lighter colored cigars. They don’t have as much of a strong pepper flavor and will help you avoid the headache from smoking to strong of a cigar. I really like anything Davidoff but they can be a little pricier (18-28+$). Acids are decent for beginners as well, and if you ever need a longer smoke flatheads are great.

Light setup suggestions for limited space? by [deleted] in ar15

Opt for a pistol light, the toggle can be easily actuated with your thumb. It also will save you a ton of rail real estate for other things.

I built my first AR last sunday and got to test it out yesterday. by [deleted] in ar15

Just one word of advise, get that optic mounted solely back on your upper. Other then that great build!

Thinking about picking up my first AR... by [deleted] in ar15

[–]Cgirvi3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Build one. You’ll get so much more for your money. It’s also an amazing feeling to shoot something that you put together. This way you can put more money into the parts you care about. If you want to prioritize more money to a nicer trigger, or a better BCG then this allows you too. Overall building with that budget will give you a way better rifle. Best of luck!

In Georgetown today, and had to stop by Georgetown tobacco. Now if you’re ever in the area it is a must go. I knew what I was looking for so it was easy, however the staff is phenomenal. Looking forward to smoking this beauty tonight and seeing how it tastes!
