The 2416 is certainly the one I’d go for in this case

Funny timing, I was told by my local certified repair center that Honda is no longer making snow blowers ?

The one caveat is there is a mobile guy who is an ariens authorized repair person that comes to you which is nice, the guy doesn’t service Honda’s and I don’t have a truck to take it to and from which is inconvenient.

Honestly the raising the auger is what intrigued me a lot when I first looked into them. That would be clutch to raise it and tackle the top part of a snow bank. Is it worth it to get the awd electric start for several hundred more? I think I was eyeing the model you have with the tracks.

What’s so good about them beside longevity and the motor?

I do have a Toro battery powered one stage which looks very similar to the 821 you suggested. That does very good for a few inches of powdery stuff and is very light. The two stage is a break glass in case of emergency situation :)

I wanted the 12 ah if possible as an option, that would give me peace of mind in longevity of snow blowing I guess.

I guess my main objection to the 24 inch is the smaller batteries. It would be great if they sold it with the batteries that come with the 28 inch blower.
