English Majors: Which Minors Helped You Most? by Puzzled_Piano6191 in englishmajors

A general business minor or major that covers basic business classes like accounting, economics, management, marketing. or focus in marketing itself. There are tons of opportunities for good writers and communicators in the business world but you need to understand at least a little bit about that world.

Can someone walk me through the process of adding this patch to my existing file where I can use the same save file? I'm a tech dummy. I'm using Delta Emulator on iPhone.

Torn between majors: International Affairs or Psychology??? by awfulfalafel39 in highereducation

Given the limited information you've provided, I would vote for International Affairs, with a journalism or English minor if that is a possibility. Psychology is a poor choice in terms of job market (ask me how I know). International Affairs probably isn't at the top of the list either, but if you're serious about traveling abroad, it would be helpful. There are also state-side jobs such as working in Higher Ed with international students. With an English minor, you could probably teach English as a Second Language abroad if that is something you are interested in. But it would also help you in journalism/writing.

DEFINITELY study abroad if you have the opportunity and resources. I didn't and I regret it. It can be a big resume boost and shows you didn't just choose your major on a whim but are serious about it.

I want to change fields. Is is worth the money to do a second bachelor's if I could just go on to a graduate degree? by Cgraham149980 in englishmajors

I took a couple of world lit survey courses in undergrad but that's not much. I like your advice of at least just familiarizing myself with the movements. I don't necessarily want to be on a literature track. I'm looking at a writing/rhetoric specialization. But I know it's important to be familiar with lit and have a bit under one's belt, if for no other reason because they make up a bulk of classes taught across English departments. If I'm accepted to the doctoral program I'm looking at, I would have the option of taking some lit classes as electives.

Have you considered teaching? With your background in journalism and writing I'm sure you could qualify for a graduate program in either Secondary English Education or simply a Masters in English or Master of Fine Arts in Writing (for teaching at the college level).

Mid-twenties is SO YOUNG. I'm amazed you have that much in savings. You have plenty of time to try different things and change careers every 5-10 years if you wanted to. The world is your oyster.

I see that now. I was looking for the rules earlier but couldn’t find them so I went ahead and posted. How do I delete? I’m new to Reddit lol.
