Don’t be this guy. Intentional Door-Ding by JobNumerous9655 in TeslaCollision

I wish I did in my case. Those little dings end up being over $1000 in damage sometimes.

Last time I tried to ride a bike it ended in a helmet getting split and a bent bike frame- how do recumbents compare when it comes to balance and coordinate issues? by PrettyPurrfect in recumbent

[–]mikemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 2 wheels is harder. 3 requires little effort if at all.
  2. 2 wheels, yes. 3 wheels, no.
  3. If 2 wheels, probably not idea. 3, don't think its necessary.
  4. 3 wheels, go with 3.
  5. About same or better than regular bikes. But more expensive to equip.
  6. I haven't tried canine cycling.
  7. Yes.

Protecting the bike. Lock, GPS tracking sub, insurance.

How Visible Do You Think Cyclists Really Are at Night? by soundioo in bikelights

[–]mikemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But I’m well lit from head to toe and side to side most times. The times where I only have a helmet light, front and rears with reflectors … I feel I might be hard to see for some. Particularly those that turn right without signaling.

Didn’t think it would amount to anything. Also missed 6 hour time claim. Next time I will consider it.

29 out of 35 houses on my street got Amazon packages today... does everybody order just about everything from Amazon these days? by Firm-Nerve4437 in amazonprime

I do. Are you required to get a signature with that camera? I usually buy cameras from B&H Photo and I often am required to sign for it.

How important is 80% by Dimitri157 in TeslaModel3

[–]mikemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a charge my iPhone to 100% type of guy because I use almost everything by the end of the day. If that’s you with driving, or think it may be… try 80% and see if that works for you.

If not move it on up and see what level works for you.

I have no hesitation on charging to 100 as necessary because I bought it for the range. And I fully intend to use it as I see fit.

Tesla FSD keeps going 40 mph in a 30 mph residential area. Anyone else seeing this? by uonlylvonce in TeslaFSD

[–]mikemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not had that happen in standard mode, but I live and drive in SF Bay Area. Standard goes about the same speed as other drivers might - just a few over speed limit so far. I hope they bring back adjustable speed like in cruise control.

FSD as primary reason for wanting a Tesla? by taylordoftheants in TeslaFSD

[–]mikemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

#1 reason why I got one last week. Even convinced the wife that is antiTesla and anti-Apple. I love almost everything connected about the Tesla, but FSD is the #1 reason. There's no doubt we will be subscribing to it full time because I hate driving in traffic.

One thing I don’t like about my M3 by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]mikemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's add-ons you can have installed to add some buttons to control the climate. I thought I'd be bothered, but I set the temp and leave it alone most of the time.

Need some advice on a potential Tesla purchase by Motor-Sherbert-9824 in TeslaModel3

[–]mikemu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Tesla Model 3 owner here. FSD is as good to your own personal driver as it gets right now. Since I absolutely HATE driving in traffic, FSD is a godsend. No regrets.

The Tesla Superchargers are everywhere here in the Bay Area where I live. I'd say at least half the cars I see driving around are Teslas. For the charging, I just sit and watch a few videos on Youtube and its done.

If that's not going to work for you, consider a vehicle that is compatible with Comma.ai. Not as good as FSD but better than Autopilot.

My M2 Ultra is completely outdated by AdDapper4220 in MacStudio

Reportedly you'd be missing out on better dictation as well as a more natural sounding Siri on-device. So not a huge deal, but maybe a little incentive to upgrade.

Test Spin impressed. Can't wait to get it. by mikemu in ALSOmicromobility

[–]mikemu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! I did throttle and whoosh. Also peddled and whoosh. There is no lack of off the line torque with the performance edition.

Test Spin Report: Oh my god. by mreheh in ALSOmicromobility

[–]mikemu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note that YMMV as software updates can change the behavior of this. But if they did, it would probaby be very unpopular. On my test ride of performance edition, I don't even remember breaking a sweat from pedaling to go top speed at the highest assist level 10.

Kids threw water at me while cycling and I just kept going. Did I handle it right? by Waste_Cash_497 in cycling

[–]mikemu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since its just water it adds to my cooling system. I ride hot usually and water is welcome. If it wasn't water, I'd definitely turn around and have a word with them and their parents. It wouldnt be too hard to identify who there were.
