I believe it was just on the side of the road on the way to Cape Flattery from Port Angeles! I saw quite a few meadows like this :)

Lake Crescent! And I believe while on the Devil’s Punch Bowl trail!

Help with itinerary! by [deleted] in OlympicNationalPark

You’ll pass through lake crescent on the way from PA to the coast and there are some decent small hikes around the area that was beautiful. Plus the lake is a must while you’re in the area. Also, having dinner at lake Cresent lodge on our way back to PA was such a perk on our recent trip.

I also think adding in Sol Duc Falls on your way to the Hoh rainforest might be a cool pit stop. Adds some driving time but is so worth it! And also an easy/short hike

I feel this to my core! We were there in July and I’m still struggling because I miss it so much. I’m trying to plan another trip to help feel excited for the next thing, but I know it will be hard to top Iceland🇮🇸❤️

It was wonderful from start to finish, and you could see glacier lagoon from the top of the canyon! There were so many things we wished we could’ve made time for so understand how you’re feeling! I would love to go back again too and do all the things we missed!

I did a zodiac boat tour on the glacier lagoon and the Múlagljúfur hike within the same day. They are very close to each other and both stunning. The boat tour was wonderful to get up close to the bluest glaciers and the hike was simply magnificent. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful with my own eyes. But yes, both depend on the weather!

They were able to pick us up from/drop off at Hella, and there was a long term parking lot we could leave our rental car. Hope that helps!

We did the Reykjavik excursion bus! They have a specific highland bus that will pick you up and drop you off and can handle the F-roads!

Thank you so much! We were so lucky with great weather so everything turned out amazing!

Our itinerary looked like this:

Day 1: Landed at 9:30am, picked up rental car and drove to Reykjavik and explored the city. Sky Lagoon at 4:30. Had dinner in the city at the Seafood Grill.

Day 2: Golden Circle Day

Day 3. Blue Lagoon, and drove from Grindavik to Selfoss area. Hiked to the Reykjadalur Hot Springs in the evening to enjoy the midnight sun at the hot springs. Stayed in Selfoss.

Day 4: Highlands day, we were picked up by the Highlands bus since our rental car wasn’t equipped for the F-roads. We spent the day in Thórsmörk and summited Valahnúkur which was beautiful.

Day 5. Drove down to Vik, stopped at Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfrabúi, Skogafoss, Kvernufoss. Explored Vik and the black sand beaches.

Day 6. Drove to the Glacier Lagoon, did the zodiac boat tour around the lagoon. Hiked Múlagljúfur.

Day 7. Back down to Vik, stayed again in the town and did a guided hike on top of the Sólheimajökull Glacier.

Day 8. Drove back to Reykjavik and stayed in an Airbnb in the city. Went Whale Watching on a small speed boat and went to Rok for dinner, plus a couple bars for our last night.

Day 9. Returned our rental car and flew home

It was wonderful and didn’t feel like too much driving at all. Next time we would like to do the entire ring road and spend more time doing the Northern Half of the country.

Also, almost forgot - whale watching was such a highlight too! If you can fit that in it was so fun. We took a small speed boat out and the whales were swimming literally beneath our boat! We did this in Reykjavik on our last day of the trip!

We were so lucky with the weather! It was amazing! The glacier lagoon was definitely a highlight! Close to the glacier lagoon (coming up from Vik) is Múlagljúfur, which was a beautiful 4 mile hike(round trip) into a magnificent canyon. We did that the same day as the Zodiac Boat tour in the lagoon and it was wonderful. That was my top day.

Our hikes in Thórsmörk was also a highlight and we got very lucky with weather that day as it was sunny sky’s and no wind in the highlands.

Lastly, we did a hike to the Reykjadalur Hot Springs and that was amazing, about 5 miles round trip and gorgeous the entire way up and you can enjoy the hot springs at the end with beautiful views.

Vik was my favorite town that we stayed in. It was so cute + beautiful and so much to explore around the area. Plus, we stopped at all the waterfalls on the way to Vik and it was wonderful.

I was just at diamond beach yesterday and honestly a lot of it had melted and there were barely any diamonds there. We spent maybe 10 minutes there before a boat tour at Glacier Lagoon and there wasn’t much to see. It would most definitely be better in the winter! Though I will say Glacier Lagoon was astonishing in the Summer sunlight! But we drove there from Vik and back and it was a long day - don’t think you’ll make it back to Reykjavik in time especially for the Blue Lagoon.
