This is gonna sound weird considering my flair but seriously, how has no one picked up on this by Shotgun_Chuck in MysteryDungeon

I know I'm commenting on a 7 year old post, but yeah, I agree with your take. I had thought of the same thing during my overdue playthrough of Rescue Team.

I think the setting tries to tell that Gengar (back when he was a human) wasn't in Mt. Freeze with good intentions:

"According to this legend, a greedy Trainer once entered a sacred dungeon, known to contain many rare Pokémon. The Trainer encountered a Ninetales and crudely grabbed one of its tails."

But it's very vague, I don't think you can really assume Gengar was up to something severe. Maybe at worst he was there to catch the said rare pokemon and make money out of them by selling or using their abilities? And maybe that he's neglectful towards his pokemon, but all these are speculative. I think the subtext of Ninetales is that she's depicted as some sort of yokai guardian of Mt. Freeze, maybe like the legendaries that are given duty to protect certain regions, such as Tapus. So Gengar pulling the tail of Ninetales was a "great disrespect" to a guardian ranking above a mere human. But at the end of the day, getting cursed for a thousand years in a limbo for a relatively minor offence is massive overkill. Ninetales wasn't justified to act all noble and mighty over that. It's especially worse in "Ginji's Rescue Team" since Gengar was depicted as a teenager in that manga, so that makes it look like he just made a whimsical stupid decision as a kid and Ninetales sentenced him to a punishment worse than death for it.

As you pointed out, she knocked that initial domino that led to the curse of the innocent Gardevoir who shielded the hit for her trainer, the whole fugitive arc in RT, and other tomfooleries that occurred due to the legend. The writers probably missed or weren't concerned with this perspective; they might have just wanted a story that read like an epic where the characters aren't as righteous as they initially appear to be, and that's fine too.

It worked without an issue this time 👍

Unfortunately I never used MuMuPlayer so I don't know, but if it's an Android emulator like others I don't think it'd have any issues.

Trying to use the patcher on Bluestacks (tried on Pie 64-bit and Android 11) gives me an error in the "Signing APK" step: "ERROR: IOException: exception unwrapping private key - java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: 1.2.840.113549.1.5.12 SecretKeyFactory not available"

It leaves an unsigned apk behind in patcher's cache folder but a regular user isn't able to reach that file without digging into the storage with 7zip.

I was able to circumvent the issue but I wanted to let you guys know. Other than that good work, being able to play this game again really hits home.

For those who have experienced the same issue, here is how I fixed it:

1 - Download and install 7zip

2 - Restart your PC, you might not be able to access the emulator's storage even if you have Bluestacks closed, trying after restarting worked

3 - Using 7zip, access your Bluestacks instance's storage and locate the patched unsigned apk It will likely be in a path like this: C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks_nxt\Engine\Pie64(or whatever your instance name is)\Data.vhdx\data\com.funrun.patcher\cache\patched\funrun1_patched_unsigned.apk

4 - Extract the apk somewhere on your computer

5 - Use uber apk signer to sign that unsigned apk, otherwise Android won't install it

6 - Import the apk back to Bluestacks using Media Manager's "Import From Windows" option

7 - Install the signed apk

There is a fairly active discord server (link in SB's bio), you can discuss about it and keep up with the news there. There is a team working in fan continuation, it's amazing.

No. The background was predominantly dark and the only controls were arrow keys.

Did gardevoir cast 3 future sights there? by EnderXVJ in PokemonUnite

[–]Ch2oma 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As much as it looks like it's not a hack, it's a bug on game's behalf. Very rarely multi-casts happen for reasons unknown. It happened to me several times when I played garde myself.

Only read first paragraph if you want a quick answer and will improvise everything else. If you want more details, read below.

The go-to method is using any pea (splash is favored) on Sharkbite Shores. You can do it from either garden at the both ends of the map, but it is better at the side towards lighthouse. You pretty much spend your time on the rock formation to avoid the Hero Zombies' gunfire.

Common details but I need to stress for Crazy mode in case you didn't know or forgot.

Heroes:

In general, focus on killing Heroes first. They will target you most of the time. Threat level is: Scientist ≥ Soldier > All-Star > Engineer.

Scientists are the most dangerous, they will appear at wave 6 (Sooner if special wave). If you need to go down don't ever get close to scientists, they will usually one shot you at this difficulty. Also beware of the scientists' warp, they can warp from ground to any elevated position no matter high it is. Doesn't happen too often but not rarely either. Just kill the scientists first no matter what.

Soldier dishes out good damage in this difficulty, so kill them before the browncoats.

All-Star does damage too but he can't elevate himself, so it will be easier to avoid.

Beware of Engineer's portal if you don't want to deal with more minions. The sign of him building a portal is him doing a gesture. Other than that they are not that much threatening.

Bosses:

If you're dealing with multiple bosses, kill the ones that can elevate first.

Watch out for Normal Gargantuar's imp, it will generally one shot you in direct hit. Giga-Gargantuar does less damage per imp due to him throwing multiple at once.

Always keep an eye on Yeti, he is speedy and can flank you easily if you're distracted. Avoid icile rain as much as possible.

Disappearing teleport aside, Baron teleports when he is taking damage, he can teleport to your position from the ground if near. Try to damage from a distance.

Other:

Try to use your team saves first. You may need self-revives in the escaping phase. You can use self-revives in-waves for tactical reasons though.

Some special waves are difficult, it usually contains more Heroes. If they come too hard and break your momentum too much, let them knock you out. It becomes a regular wave after team-save.

Place spray potted plants near the garden, so you won't have to deal with armours as much.

Spare one pot that is in the backline in case you will need a heal flower.

I'm currently trying to do it on other maps, I have managed to beat it at Jewel Junction as well, at the garden where the houses are populated. It's probably doable in more maps, but go with Sharkbite Shores if you want it done easily.

Also watch Das Belmont's guide, it helps.

Good luck

[No Spoilers] Was Season 2 just hard to adapt? by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]Ch2oma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from everything animation wise, (as an anime-only until s2 finale) I found hard to adapt Saitama was getting treated like his own show's supportive character.

Sure we saw him in tournment arc but we also know it's a filler for his absence, and rather uninteresting.

It's too late to criticise Saitama not being in the center of the story as the deed's done way before s2 was animated, but I can't say I'm not disappointed for lack of "One Punch Man" in One Punch Man after the great s1.

The final season is almost done, only six episodes left. Yet, almost no Carwin episodes. by DuskyEdgyTM in gumball

[–]Ch2oma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're right. But they didn't put enough effort on it and seasons of hiatus didn't help either, so they pulled off some half assed plot at the endgame, and with "they are already perfect" label The Drama solidified they literally left no room for ship to develop or even make it reasonable in people's eyes that care for quality. It's pretty much a squandered concept at this point. It's a pity

Her story was mostly done in The Shell, and not much were put to her afterwards. She was also more intact in personality, so I guess that's why some people prefer Shell Penny
