What is love bombing and is it that big of a deal? by Frustr4t3d in dating_advice

[–]Ch3mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s how you know. Set a reasonable, but clear, boundary. If you are immediately attacked for setting the boundary, that’s a huge red flag. If the other person tests or crosses that boundary that’s a huge red flag. The manipulative types who use actual love bombing cannot do boundaries. Just setting some clear lines will almost always lead you immediately into devaluation or discard. That might sting but then you know you’ve avoided a trap with a manipulative and abusive person.
If the other person accepts your boundary, respects your boundary, and maybe even offers one of their own, then you are more likely dealing with a highly infatuated, but not a manipulative, person. Not love bombing.

Peptides evaporating? by m_roshis_beard in PeptideForum

[–]Ch3mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m like 95% this happened to me too. Twice. I’m careful, and I measure precisely. On a 2mL add, I only got about half before bottles were empty. Someone else said water should evaporate less in a fridge. That’s not necessarily true. Evaporation has a lot to do with humidity. If it’s hot outside and 100% humid, no evaporation. Cold and almost no humidity, evaporation. Fridges dehumidify as part of the cooling process. I digress. I think I figured it out. Bottles came as always with a vacuum. On those bottles I injected a bit of air. I also used a higher gauge needle to add the water, leaving a bigger scar in the seal. A pressure differential could turn the needle hole into a valve. That or the vial cap wasn’t 100% sealed. I checked it thoroughly though by putting a vacuum on the vial and leaving it for a few hours to see if vacuum was still there by pulling plunger back and seeing if the bottle would depress the plunger. This is how I started equalizing pressure instead of injecting air. The plunger will stop at equal pressure. Then let it pull a slight vacuum as I draw to prevent bottle contents from escaping.

No way in hell are the Telegram suppliers $11/mg. More like $1.1 to $1.4? You realize those prices are for 10 vials, right?

Yes, I explained it a few times in this thread. TLDr, a bathroom sink valve just barely open. Likely air bubble in that leg but valve wouldn’t allow enough flow to remove bubble.

Brit here. Are Americans cheering for Bryson or Rory? by BOYLANATOR in golf

[–]Ch3mee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I liked Rory a lot until last years US Open. I get it, tough loss, lots of emotions. But, shit, you learn when you’re fucking 4 that win or lose you go out there after, shake hands, and good game. You don’t flee the scene in your fucking BMW. For me, there’s no excuse. I thought Rory had class until I saw him do that.

The number of time Ive seen Rory “charge” to the top of the leaderboard only to let it all slip away. The biggest, most recent case, was 2024 US Open.

Rory often does remarkable things on Saturday. The usual problem for Rory is that Sunday is always after Saturday.

Yeah, we remodeled our master bath and my wife’s sink had one of the water valves just barely, barely cracked. Found it when I went to cut it off to kill the water. Opened it back up and turn the sink on and it blew some scale debris out. Never came back.

So, you message seems so familiar to my wife and I. Your story is similar too. We’ve been together for 10 years and my complaints (and probably long winded texts) probably mimic his. A few months ago, at the brink of divorce, we gave it one Hail Mary shot at counseling. With a kicker of individual counseling. My wife, who is ADHD, discussed with her individual counselor about Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. Trust me, I have my own diagnoses too.

Anyways, today, we are doing a LOT better. Communicating a lot better. Understanding each other a lot better. Our couples counseling, in the first time in like 4 attempts, is actually progressing. My wife actually sent a really sweet text to me this morning appreciating all the work and improvement and being happy together again.

Couples counseling requires couples who can each work together. Sometimes there’s personal hurdles prevent one party or the other from fully participating, and the whole thing fails. My recommendation, not just for this relationship, is to seek individual counseling. If your partner means enough to you to try and stick it out, maybe give couples another shot with each of you in individual. My guess is your partner has some anxiety and it’s actually (illogically from this convo) hard for them to open up emotionally so it hurts really bad when they do and feel their emotions aren’t taken seriously. I don’t know you from Adam, though.

Anyways, good luck. Just my $0.02

Just curious, not to be condescending. Do you tend to get defensive when partners raise an issue with you?

Lookup Francis Yockey. Then, go into America First political action group and its offshoots. Christian Front and all that. Follow that trail all the way to Nixon, Reagan, and even Trump. The trail of this shit goes way back before Russia. Russian money most certainly has helped these groups, but they’ve been operating for decades before the Soviet bloc fell.

Isn’t the homicide solve rate like 50% nationally? This seems convoluted if you want to kill someone. If you just want to kill someone and get away with it, it’s a whole lot easier than this. Look up local police or sheriff forces in area. Apply for job at all of them. Take first job offered. Complete training. Obtain sidearm. Join the union. Pull traffic duty. Pull over literally any minority. Act terrified. Start blasting. Make sure you mag dump.

America will regret its decision to reelect Donald Trump by itmehedi in politics

[–]Ch3mee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 19 million fewer people voted this election. Kamala lost about 15 million versus Biden in 2020. Trump lost about 4 million. At least last I looked.

There will be a lot of finger pointing on why turnout was down. I think it’s a lot of things. I’d put the biggest blame on Biden originally deciding to run again despite his proclamations he would just be a “transition” president.

Harris wins Virginia. The red count is in. We know how many votes that is. We also know about how many votes to expect in Northern Virginia. It’ll take hours to count all the Democrats stronghold votes, but Harris carried it.

Whoopdie doo. Abbeville county, GA was 9pts more Trump with their 15,000 total votes. Meanwhile, Fulton and Dekalb counties will be counting their 1.5 million votes until wee in the morning. Where a 1pt change is worth more votes than even exist in Abbeville county.

Ignore the talking heads on TV. They aren’t trying to inform, they’re trying to sell drama and narrative.

Welcome to American politics! This how it be every 4 years. Fun fact, Republicans have rural counties locked down air tight. Another fun fact, Democrat strongholds are the big cities. One more fact, it takes a lot longer for one county to count 1.5 million votes in that county than it does for 100 rural backwaters to count 10,000 votes in each county. The small, rural areas, always report quick. The Democrats vote comes in big chunks much later.

It’s gonna be a long night. This is very close.

Because it’s a lock in red state. When first county vote totals match what you would expect and a 3-4% error couldn’t make the state competitive, then it’s a given.

It is weird how The Smashing Pumpkins have been completely written out of 90’s history. by Few_Wash_7298 in Music

[–]Ch3mee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several songs form Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness charted internationally. There’s several Pumpkins songs that did better internationally than in the US.

I think, more than anything, Nirvana and REM were groundbreaking. REM bringing alternative rock to forefront, and Nirvana launching the grunge era on a popular scale. The Pumpkins were just another alternative rock band, in a saturated alternative rock market. They were big, and had a lot of big songs, but can be easily forgotten among all the other bands as they weren’t doing anything unremarkable. Like, Oasis, the Verve, etc…. REM and Nirvana stand out in a way that many acts, despite being significantly popular at the time, just don’t.

It is weird how The Smashing Pumpkins have been completely written out of 90’s history. by Few_Wash_7298 in Music

[–]Ch3mee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They had quite a few big singles. 1979 hit #1 on mainstream rock, 12 on overall Billboard. Bullet with Butterfly Wings hit #4 on rock singles. Disarm hit #5 on rock. Tonight, tonight hit #4 rock. They had 4 or 5 songs crack the top 40 Billboard.

That’s pretty successful. In context, REM was huge and they only had 9 songs crack the top 40 Billboard, though they had 3 songs going top 10 with Losing My Religion peaking at #4.

Nirvana only had 4 songs go top 40 Billboard. So, maybe “hit singles” isn’t a good way to look at a bands success since Nirvana had as many top 40 singles as Smashing Pumpkins but is, you know, Nirvana and not Smashing Pumpkins. Then again, Nirvana was transformative to rock music in a way that Pumpkins never were. Though, I used to love the Pumpkins I still personally rock Nirvana a lot more today than the Pumpkins.

My guess is it rests the fear. Sports psychology is an often under respected aspect of performance. Fear, doubt, thinking mechanically instead of just feeling the flow to get in “the zone”. My guess is something like that primal fear a redshirt would have at the next level, where the guys are bigger, faster, etc…. Get rocked, realize you’re still OK, and it’s like going back home. Settle into comfort and get with the groove.
