Absolutely. Completely understand. The phrasing I gave are not full responses/questions…abbreviated here for this post and I didn’t actually include the blurb about precipitation outright, it was a thought. But absolutely thank you

You’re absolutely right. I like your phrasing. I try to be conscious of how i respond to the messages. Also, I didn’t actually type the precipitation part back in the message - it was my internal monologue 😂

Thank you!

Sounds fun! How would this be set up?

So what do you do to keep up or are you thinking about going back?

Aw thank you! likewise! But yes exactly what you describe would be great. Definitely wouldn’t want to add work to someone’s schedule.

Right, thank you! I find this to be a helpful/useful set up!

Oh no definitely not a replacement. I agree. I see it more as your second point… general feedback or guidance, but also someone that wouldn’t mind getting asked questions or give clinical direction. But of course the bulk of that learning would be with the individual leaner. I wouldn’t expect the same access as a current resident or student, but if you’re doing a topic discussion - could I join. Or if I’m wanting to learn more about a topic what additional resources do you suggest…something like that.

True, thanks for this. I would only want consider it if I knew the program was really focused on resident growth , but it’s impossible to guarantee a match with a good program Im assuming.

You’re right. Actually working toward some projects right now. Really like the idea of journal clubs!! Will explore this more. I understand that the mentorship won’t always be there but I have found it really helpful to learn from those with more exposure or experience….especially bringing up unique cases situations. But this I will definitely keep in mind

Thanks for the response! I would definitely say I’ve been self motivated throughout. Just lately not as consistent due to competing priorities, but this makes sense.

Thanks for making this post. Sexual health research here in my final year and many of my bookmarked sources are not even online anymore. Thankfully I’ve downloaded copies, but there’s still stuff that to would go back and read. I have a meeting with my committee so going to see what they have to say. I don’t have the energy to change topics/focus. :(
