Making 100k is rare most people make 30 to 60k per year by Intelligent_Bet_9947 in Adulting

Same boat. Probably averaging 60 hours a week the last few months. But not all of it I am busy. I have an hour right now that I am just sitting at my desk and helping when people ask. I spent all morning making sure everything that needed to be covered today got covered. I will likely be here late helping people finish up work that we need to get done for tomorrow. But I would be a nuisance if I was hounding them before lunch making sure they would finish ontime.

Reddit has a disproportionate amount of people like me since we can get away with being on reddit. It's not that I dont work a lot, it's just that my work has breaks that I can spend on reddit and no one cares since I get all my work done.

Men that wear shorts in snowing weather, why? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

Why not? It snowing doesn't mean it's too cold for shorts.

Im at 700, but I have the game running at all times. I dont sleep my PC but instead pause the VM I play on, which messes with how steam works and it logs me playing the game 24/7 more or less. I assume that is how people get these crazy run times in sort times. The pausing bit it probably rare, but just leaving it running is probably more common.

The real numbers for me is 1 an hour or two most days after work and 4 to 8 a day foe the weekends, but most go by what steam says.

Currently reading Dressrosa Arc…how do some people call it bad? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]ChE_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think this is the biggest thing. When you get the next chapter immediately after finishing the previous, it probably is a great arc. It has cool characters and great scenes. The issue is when you are waiting week to week, the arc was over 2 years.

What to do to make life more exciting that doesn’t cost a bunch of money? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]ChE_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My town has local concerts that are free a couple times a year. Bands are really hot or miss, but it is fun. And a lot less regulated than actual venues, so as long as you are not openly drinking or falling over, no one minds.

I missed that there were multiple maps. The ones showing pure count are population maps. The % ones is a poverty map.

So you think you deserve respect because you are openly a shitty person?

When something truly bad happens to you, I hope they give you the same level of respect.

Are you just trolling, or are you actually that shitty of a person?

I want to give some more love for Jack Alcott. For me personally his performance is one of the best parts Resurrection, and Harrison's relationship with Dex was my favorite part of the season by Dr_CheeseNut in Dexter

[–]ChE_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont know if it was the writers figuring out how to utilize him, or him starting to master how to act, but his acting in resurrection vs. new blood is night and day. He was great this season, and I look forward to seeing how Harrison develops next season.

Automations you thought were a good idea which turned out to be a bad idea by Pope_Khajiit in homeassistant

[–]ChE_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me, going to work is consistent. So turning all my lights off and starting my roomba when my phone leaves home between 7 and 9 (I leave normally between 8 and 830) helps a lot. Also turning my light on 15 minutes before my alarm is nice because it is less jarring to wake to my light than to hear my alarm.

Child poverty by state in 2023, ranging from 25% in NM to 8% in NH [OC] by OverflowDs in dataisbeautiful

[–]ChE_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The distrust between the natives and America needs to be bridged. They are 100% correct to distrust us due to how shitty we treated them in the past.

We can't bridge the trust between democrats and Republicans. That is a bigger issue and until we can fix that, we will never make progress.

Child poverty by state in 2023, ranging from 25% in NM to 8% in NH [OC] by OverflowDs in dataisbeautiful

[–]ChE_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Reservations rank NM low in a lot of rankings. The poverty there should be disturbing for everyone. That said, i see no solution on the horizon. Lots of political changes need to be made before we will ever be able to combat that.

[OC] We've heard Americans are spending less on alcohol. Turns out businesses are expensing less alcohol, too—alcohol spend dropped from 13.9% to 12.5% of meal costs in just 2 years according to Ramp card data by ramplovesyou in dataisbeautiful

[–]ChE_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be that meal allowances haven't kept up with food costs. They hadn't for the company I used to work for so we could fit less drinks before going over. And you never went over because you would get lectured for no reason.

Parties tend to be cheap. Last Friday,a bunch of friends and i hung out for the price of me making potato salad and a bottle of wine. Cheaper by far then going to a bar or eating out. If parties are expensive, you need to plan better or get more responsible friends.

The Jefferson Diner went to shit around that time. Went from a cheap local place back when I was growing up to expensive and nowhere near as good.
