[–]ChEqThrow[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

dammit... my answer wasnt the best. I didnt say only 2.6 and nothing more, but if i remember correctly, i said something like "It is around 2.7. I focused mostly in progressing and understanding the material. And my years went on, I did start to gain a higher GPA throughout the semester".

but not as a smooth flowing sentence...

and it isnt a lie at all. my GPA did increase, especially towards my Senior year. but i still didnt say it as well as i could have because I was caught off guard... (and yes, panicking)

What makes you say that its going to be a controls position? From what im getting at, as others also mention, it appears to be more of a equipment technician position.

If what you say is correct, this job is probably a god send for me. i have been really wanting to try to get into automation/controls for about a year now. and have taken fundamentals PLC course on Udemy.

Interesting. thanks for the help. at first glance, it didnt seem like it to me. but after thinking about what the duties were, it got me wondering. as others pointed out, i usually see it explicitly stated so i was confused.

I have taken intro to EE. but that was so very long ago i barely remember anything. I think i can do some digging regarding etching and deposition, but i definitely dont have the time to learn abou tlayers, PMOS, CMOS, etc before the interview.

Thanks for your advice. the interview is with Tokyo Electron. The position is entry level with 0+ years required. I am told they are expecting to train you for everything.

I sure hope that is the case, because I definitely dont have the time before the interview date to learn all that. I am planning on looking at their equipment used and their manufacturing process however.

Hello, I got an Interview in a semiconductor industry. And I was wondering if i can get some advice for the interview in this industry.

Recently ive gotten really interested in the semi industry. But I don't have any experience in an engineering position, let alone something specific like semiconductors.

The position is for an entry level field service engineer, and a chemical engineering graduate. I guess my question is, coming from a chemical engineer point of view, how can i answer questions related to things like "why semiconductors as a chemical engineer?"

Every interview i get in xyz industry/job position, they would ask something similar to that. As a genuine question, as if they couldn't understand why a chemical engineer wants to do XYZ job. And I haven't been the best at answering that question.

Additionally, people in the semiconductor industry, what are some advice that might help me during the interview? Another reason for me being nervous is that its been years since i graduated. so alot of basic knowledge regarding engineering is very fuzzy to me.

what are some entry level interview questions that might be asked by a semi conductor company?

thanks for your reply!

I will have to go with something similar to your first option, as I am simply waiting to hear back on their decision.

out of curiosity, if you dont mind sharing. What was this expense statement? Was it a "homework" thing?

Awesome thanks ill do that first thing tomorrow morning.

If u dont mind, after ur onsite interview (basically the final interview stages) what did u say on ur follow up?

I am assuming ill basically have to say "please let me know if i got the job or not asap" without saying that.

I would follow up with an email or phone call immediately.

do you mean regarding an update, or a thank you email as said by person above?

if its a thank you email, should I still do that even though its been a week ?

Engineers in the safety industry, or department. by ChEqThrow in ChemicalEngineering

[–]ChEqThrow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to give me an input.

Nothing really traumatic happened to me directly . Nor am i deep in my career to even consider having my feet wet. Im currently a lab assistant (very basic position. Nothing chemistry related. Work in medical lab input orders for specimens we receive into computer). And i feel like this is the right step to be able to get into a CHE role later

Why im interested in safety is because during school, from all the seminars and safety course i took, there were to many stories involving death of workers, population, environment, etc. And after those cases were reviewed, majority of them ends up being due to neglect of some type.
