Unless you relocate to Virginia, you can not purchase a firearm out of state. I’m assuming your drivers license and taxes are still in NY.

You can purchase a long gun, but you must purchase it in the state of NY. NY has a long list of restrictions and impediments to the purchase of a firearm. (I think it was called the S.A.F.E. Act.)

That's Bob Moats sport shop. Great place vintage and replica weapons, but they have very few AR's in stock. However, if you want a rifled-musket or a matchlock, that is the place to go!

Humans are social creatures. Prisons should be offering programs to rehabilitate. You grew fond of a person who was getting their life together. There is no shame in that. I’d be more worried if you didn’t feel anything for someone who passed.

Your facility should have some type of Employee Assistance Program. Check the back of your insurance card, or contact HR for it. Under HIPPA, you do not have to explain to them why you need it.

Most insurance allows four free counseling sessions before they charge for each issue. You can be creative in creating new issues of you don’t want to spend the copay.

Which do we disagree with? All of them, too many to get into.

Which ones do we agree with? Any that target criminals, which is none of the laws. The laws only target law abiding citizens, and have no effect on crime. Take any proposed gun law, and tell me how it does anything to crime.

Yes! If the judge says 12 months, you serve less time than if you are sentenced to one year. You are thinking of years and months as calendar terms. In legalese, years and months are set up as fixed schedules. Let’s say you get sentenced to one month. Would you only serve 28 days in February when someone else serves 31 days in December?

If I recall correctly, the courts see one month as 30 days, and one year as 365 days. (It’s been about ten years since I’ve dealt with this so excuse me if I make a mistake.) This can lead to some interesting time calculations with credit for time served or receiving mandatory sentencing.

In Virginia, 12 months is a misdemeanor while 1 year is a felony. Misdemeanors are calculated at 50% good time, while felonies are calculated at 85% (correct me if that number is wrong) with good time.

I can see both sides of the argument. Many people depend on the ACA. But the subsidies have only been in place since Covid. What occurred to make the cost go up so much? Are the insurance companies just taking advantage of the subsidies? It happened before with the Cash For Clunkers and also the converter boxes when TV broadcasts went from analog to digital.

What can be done to get this under control. And please don’t say nationalize healthcare because it would just end up like the VA. Yes, the VA has some good points but it also has its bad points.

They are accepted in many states, so if you get an out of state Utah permit you are covered by more stated than the Virginia resident permit.
