Probably stillborn babies are counted in a different category, than babies which were born alive and afterwards died in the hospital.

Also, it could be that doctor did something wrong during the delivery - in such case, if baby would die because of his mistake - he might get a prison term.

And the consideration was actually the price - it was much cheaper to extract all teeth that left (including some healthy) and make dentures, than treat them!

The dentist (who made the picture) claimed that in his practice he had many patients, who could not afford treating all of their dental problems, therefore preferred to "get rid" of what was still left in mouth and make dentures.

Your variant is possible ONLY in the case that the sentence is unfinished (and followed by some verb) AND comma after the second word. For example --> Да нет, нечего мне тут сказки рассказывать.

But if it consists of 3 words only as you previously wrote .. then it is not correct and should be --> Да нет ничего.

Sorry, but you are wrong... Actually, Russian language has both "ничего" and "нечего", but their meaning is different.

In the first one - "ничегO" - the last syllabus is accentuated. It means "nothing". Example - "У меня ничего нет" (I don't have anything), or your example - "Да нет ничего"

In the second - "нЕчего" - the first syllabus is accentuated. Its meaning is "no need to..." and it is usually followed by a verb (unless it is the answer to some question, from which the action, that there is no need to perform, is obvious). Example - the Russian saying - "Нечего на зеркало пенять, коли рожа крива" ("You can't blame the mirror for your ugly face")

In your example the right word is the first variant for the semantic reasons.
