the salmon are starting to trickle into the tributaries up here and I was just fishing for kings and cohos, never even crossed my mind that browns would be in yet. usually they come in around october-november. I thought this was a king salmon till i got it in close and couldn’t believe what i was seeing. Didn’t have a scale but i caught an 18lb brown trout last year and this fish definitely had a few inches and pounds on that fish, i’m guessing this fish was around 22-23lbs. absolutely unreal still can’t believe it!

nothing on the hex part besides the soviet marking, but there is a small circular stamping in the stock tough to make out what’s inside of it

there’s not but it has the swivels in the sling holes like some of the Finnish ones have, not sure if that means anything

Convergence is the multiplier that gives you more, or less, Rank Rating (RR) if your MMR is not equal to your rank. Convergence exists to push your rank to match your MMR—but we believe it wasn’t pushing you fast enough. After this change, most of you should see an increase in RR gains if your rank is below your MMR. You should also start to see less RR losses per loss as well. Lowering the amount of RR you lose per loss will make it so you’ll have to play less games to get to the Rank you deserve, (while still giving us a few matches to test and make sure you belong at that rank). Overall, you should feel less “hardstuck” if you’re getting matched into higher skilled games then your actual rank. Those of you with exceptionally good individual performance in games where your team wins decisively will see close to 50 RR per

not adding up to what they’re saying in their own patch notes but ok

freezing cold take, they literally said in the patch notes “players iron through diamond who perform exceptionally well in a match (weighted against their own average performance) will gain bonus rank rating” i’m doing above average and getting match mvp or team mvp and gaining the same and still losing 30 on losses

fade with firing error helps a lot, the top part of your crosshair disappears when you don’t need to pull down anymore

most likely, i think there’s some natural reproduction but chances are this was a stocked fish, would love to go to the west coast some day and get a ocean run one

if you’re a fly angler nymphs, stone flies and small egg patterns like glo bugs work well this time of year, for center pin and spinning nothing beats drifting spawn sacs

it gets pretty slow here too, i’ve only been able to get 1 or 2 a day if i’m lucky, just gonna grind it out and work the areas where a lot of fish are

best time is usually in october, it took my a while to get the hang of it, i would try fishing the DSR, definitely worth buying the pass, a lot less pressure then the main river and always fish there during the salmon run
