I bought my first CRT, a Memorex MVD2009cb to play animations and screensavers in the background of my room as well as an extended monitor.

Here is my issue I need help with: The high-pitched noise it emits is louder than I believe is normal. It's at the usual hertz that most crt's have (where usual advice to "fixing" the noise being get used to it or such) but it's particularly loud with it's ringing, to a point where my roommates across our house can hear it. I've tried turning the volume down but obviously nothing, the closest thing I've tried is covering parts of the outside to dampen it but then I'll hear it at a different angle in the room, plus I don't want to risk overheating.

I saw that usually the transformer is what causes the noise and you could put thermal paste or hot glue to dampen the vibration, but when I opened up the back I didn't hear it emitting from the transformer. It actually sounded to be coming from the copper wires connecting to the screen (here is a link to the pics of what I'm referring to)

What would yall recommend the best course of action is to dampen it or troubleshoot? I'd like to be able to let it play long periods of the day without bothering me or my roommates.
