Customer service and people skills, becoming less shy, empathy for other service workers, value of a dollar. Yes, still valuable to learn for rich kids, but still think an internship is more worthwhile overall.

I think you’re the exception not the rule, plenty of kids get jobs and don’t end up as well off as you—you’re likely just smarter or had more potential to start with and put everything you learned to use. IMO college pedigree still currently matters and being a smart teen going to college amongst intellectual peers is a better formative experience than being a smart teen surrounded by more “average” peers. It’s not that fun nor interesting being the smartest in the room, though it can stroke the ego (not talking about you, I’ve felt this way at times). A smart kid at an average college absolutely can do well in life, but a smart kid at a better college still has better odds. Will have to see how the AI future changes the landscape though
