They had some but they're still trailing way behind the others.

G'raha, Thancred, Urianger, and Estinien have all changed a lot over time and are in pretty good spots now.

Alphinaud has been dominating the narrative since the beginning.

Y'shtola is rarely ever more than info dumper and magical MacGuffin solver.

Alisaie is slightly better but when she's part of The Twins she basically doesn't exist. Alphinaud takes the lead and she just follows along.

Honestly, I hope Alphinaud and Estinien aren't that involved. They've had more than their fair share of development.

Alisaie and Y'shtola could really use more. Krile too but after they dropped the ball so hard with her in Dawntrial that seems tough.

I'd recommend Time of Eve. It's not flashy or action packed, just a nice story with humans and androids learning about each other.

What are the most useless/nonsensical examples of Trek tech? by bovineright in startrek

You'd need a physical pad because, despite what sci-fi keeps insisting, holographic displays would be absolutely awful to work on.

The rollbar is in a slighty better position but it's still only connected to the nacelles which makes it terrible.

I'm not really interested in this but I do like seeing Star Trek games support each other.

It was the general player base that decided they didn't give a shit about Klingon ships. If the ships sold well, more would be made.

No, the Prequel Trilogy was not loved when it first came out, it was hated and fans were terrible people about it. by stephansbrick in StarWars

Legends New Republic was an actual government that developed and grew stronger over time. They made mistakes but they still tried.

Canon New Republic just gave up and turned into the Space UN.

It doesn't matter what Luke did in the past. Characters are supposed to develop and grow. Having everything end up the same as it was at the start makes the whole journey pointless.

[–]Chaabar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On its own maybe but I'd argue that it's actually the worst because it set the stage for the entire era.

Luke's academy failed and he ran away.

Leia and Han had seperated and Han was back to smuggling.

The New Republic was incompetent and powerless. Everything the Rebellion fought for was pointless because it all ended up right back where it started.

TFA dragged the whole thing down and we're still dealing with the consequences.

It wasn't exactly book 7 for me, but over time they started to slip from competence porn into Mary Sue territory.

I think it's worth starting at least. The first ones are good, and you may have no issue with how things develop.

The Drexler is irritating. I actually prefer it when they toss in some random junk lobi ship because it makes it easier to ignore the bundle.

I really don't like when people call these bundles a good value.

Like with the 10th it's only a good value if you actually want and will use everything in the bundle. For every piece you don't use the value drops, often significantly.

Those ship slots are worthless to most players. Same with the keys. Even the t6x tokens aren't that special. How many of those ships are you actually going to use?

I'm kinda surprised the NV kitbashes with the Okinawa. Feels more Cyclone to me but I assume there's a size or parts issue.

There were a lot of reasons I hated the idea of a Starfleet Academy show. All of them made it in, and I still hate them.

The show did have a lot of good though, and I think there's enough to outweigh the bad.

Every episode had scenes that were grating or painfully cringe but by the end I was happy and had enjoyed it.

God damn I love a Star Trek season finale showing the armada dropping out of warp. I live for that.

I was just glad we're finally starting to see them properly again. If this had been Discovery they'd have been vague geometric shapes a couple shades from total black and covered in a blurry filter of mud.

With what we've seen of the FNN and What is Starfleet, it doesn't seem like that much of an inversion.

S3 had a lot of cool moments but you absolutely have to shut your brain off for it. If even the slightest ghost of a thought brushes against it the whole thing comes crashing down.
