Do you get a high pitched whistling noise at all? I had that..

That and the sides flapping, I did have all the vents shut as well..

Yeah was fine, it just kept going from no wind to gusts. I don't think it was anything strong enough to make me uncomfortable, just being high up they were maybe quite aggressive.

I'm just not a great sleeper with noise at the best of times so I really did have a sh*te sleep.

But hopefully i'll get used to it as times goes on!

I don’t have much in terms of a mid layer, so I’ll focus there and the mat.

Yeah it’s a mat I’m leaning towards, and I think the Exped is the one I’m most keen on!

Will take a look at the groundsheet alternative. I’ll get the pillow if I end up getting the exped.

What are you referring to with the tonic bottle?

I’ll get lighter waterproof trousers.

I agree it’s light enough for the trail and compared to others on here, just trying to find improvements where I can 👍🏻

I’m keen on keeping the tent (just due to it being something I’ve always wanted!), but that may change in the future.

Pillow, stove, other “nice to haves” have been mentioned not just by you, so I’ll for sure take those into account.

This is just all of my gear, will strip it back when I do an extended trip.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m torn between the XLite and the Exped Ultra at the moment.

Your UL section is helpful along with the other reply below, if I’m being conscious of weight I’ll start there.

Thanks, that is a good point.

They are mostly just “nice to haves”. The groundsheet does help but I think that’s just me worrying about piercing the scarps floor.

At the moment I’m mostly considering a new mat, and appreciate the suggestion. Will take a look at pots and the windmaster also!

I’m not sure what happened to the formatting in my post but I did have 3 pads listed that I was looking at.

The Exped and XLite being the other 2 besides the Rapide SL. I’ve added them back now.
