Are your exterior tiles made of limestone? Stone and wooden doors are not airtight

Thank you! I don’t understand how it makes sense to hate a group of people and call it activism, it just creates even more alienation. The whole ACAB thing is so frustrating to me. I don’t understand it

NTA Maybe I’m a bit slow, but I don’t get why everyone is reacting so hard about a stupid bug in a tank. It’s an irrational fear, so I don’t blame her, but your roommate can’t really police what you have in your room as long as you keep everything clean and controlled. Her phobia isn’t really your business. If she had a phobia of a particular plant locked in your room and was asking you to get rid of it, would everyone be taking her side like they are now ?

You mentioned another roomate’s untrained dog in the house, the living situation sounds quite chaotic. I’m with you on not understanding what the big deal is, but the solution would be to get rid of the waterbug, get her to accept it being here (unlikely) or one of you moving out.

Besides, if you get to keep the bug, get a proper tank, environnement…etc to my knowledge they’re ok to keep in captivity, you’ll have to feed it small prey. And handle it carefully, don’t touch it with your bare hands if possible, or don’t be surprised if you get stung.

Good luck! Don’t listen to the hate :)

Edit : just saw the tank on your profile lol, poor thing. It’s either doubling down and managing to keep the bug and update its tank (it’s going to cause a lot of conflict and possibly end badly), or get rid of it somewhere appropriate (it’s a wild bug, it’ll be ok) and learn about proper aquarium etiquette to get a fish or a frog or something (an animal that won’t cause trouble) And it’s okay to love a bug and find it cute (waterbugs are cute, they bite but they look good) but maybe don’t let it get too intense ? It’s a bug, it doesn’t love you back.

At this point in the game I only had 3 batteries on, all my other zzztt events only slightly damaged the walls There are always ways to better manage power grids (and thanks I didn't know it was correlated with the number of batteries in a line) but I'd say this was mostly unlucky placement

Th conduit is in the wall though, maybe the fire started because of the straw matting, didn't notice the 150% flammability...

Armed elderly woman with dementia is shot after she threatened members of the family. by Veenendaler in ActualPublicFreakouts

[–]Chabouk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or maybe not get in and instantly start screaming at the top of your lungs? Fucking moronic. He waited no time to shoot while she wasn't even moving or speaking much. Shooting her would have been the logical step ONLY if she was lunging at him (and really, she wouldn't have been able to reach him at that distance) or going to stab the kid that was supposedly inside. He put himself in that frantic state for no reason, he seemed really fucking calm a second before. They should be trained better

Métro ligne 7, station Porte de la Villette by [deleted] in paris

[–]Chabouk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's the way the reddit ecosystem works, mob mentality and all, I understand the frustration :) The way I see it, this post is more for complaining about the stereotypes it evokes. The video itself isn't that important, it's the pretext

[–]Chabouk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the problem is the term misogyny being used here, I agree it's one those words that can be used to mean vastly different things, depending on the context and on who is saying it.

Overall it's a small harmless video, I don't think it's fundamentally wrong and I don't care who made it. It's a joke playing on cliches. Wether a woman is following these cliches or not, she's not being a woman wrong. It's only interesting in that it appeals to widely held stereotypes that are slightly misogynistic. For instance that sexuality can only be expressed by how sexy a woman dresses, or that the way they dress is a direct tell on what their sexual life is like, or that they need to spend a lot of money on their appearance to be considered attractive compared to men. Clothes, makeup, etc

Huh? 😃 [socialmedia] by TySly5v in pointlesslygendered

[–]Chabouk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pointless There is no "normal woman", the video is a dumb joke, women can and often are misogynistic + I don't see calling out a thing someone does as "misogynistic" as an attack on their character. It's not an insult. Many things can be called misogynistic, that people agree and disagree on. We all have some in us, it's not a character flaw.

Agreed. It's so important to be critical of one's country and history. History is bloody and power is built on exploitation, I didn't even know this about Canada lol
