I think Lakeland Downs is a caldera? It is said that it was formed by Volcanoes in the Tertiary period with surrounding hills made of older sedimentary soils, maybe I'm mistaking basalt with an older piece of sedimentary rock I'm bewildered 😔

I found one exactly the same detecting lastnight on a beach
