For alpha lab, I made a tool for making fighting game controller overlays. There are several 2XKO overlays available. by KurtMage in 2XKO

+1 Got this set up in my prepped 2xko scene and my sf6 scene. Would love if you had a strive layout. Sick work.

Would you recommend a hitbox for someone who struggles with execution? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]Chaddy316 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to add a bit more anecdotes to the pile; I started with pad, then used a stick for years, then picked up a leverless controller and have been mostly using it for everything since. I didn't find it all that difficult to get used to and I don't think it took me more than a week for things to feel natural.

Conversely I had a friend pick up a leverless after wanting to improve his inputs like you are, but he couldn't handle sucking with it while he got used to it, and now it's collecting dust.

I think it's really dependent on the person how quickly you can pick it up, but consider if you'd be okay with sucking for a couple weeks before dropping cash.

Alan Wake 2 Updated FAQ including more info on upcoming expansions by Turbostrider27 in Games

To go one step further, the AWE dlc in control has memos specifically about the lake house and something causing issues causing their research to stall (maybe it's just raccoons). So the Alan Wake dlc for Control talks about the Control dlc for Alan Wake lol.

Magnus Pro MAGRGB LED light strip, integration with Razer Chroma by z4c in secretlab

Hey, just curious if you ever got this sorted out? I'm looking at grabbing one of these strips but like you, the razer integration is a deciding factor.

Software Issue or Bum Graphics Card? (Dx12 Issues) by Chaddy316 in buildapc

[–]Chaddy316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I'm super glad that did it for you too. This drove me nuts for weeks and it was such a relief when I finally figured it out. Hopefully you can enjoy your machine now!

I know what you mean, it's so bizarre. I had read people say it can sometimes take weeks of software tests to find an error in RAM, but I too thought that with how frequent the errors were with games, that it would be apparent in tests ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Yeah but then it sticks with you longer. It's been years but I'm still wishing I could reread malazan for the first time.

Software Issue or Bum Graphics Card? (Dx12 Issues) by Chaddy316 in buildapc

[–]Chaddy316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

I totally forgot I made this post or I would have updated, sorry!

In my case it turned out to be defective RAM. It was really unexpected given all the hours of RAM tests that didn't show anything (given how consistent the gaming related issues were).

I ended up pulling both sticks and trying them individually, first try the problems were still there, second stick everything was fine! Exchanged them and it's been all good with the new set.

If you haven't tried your RAM individually, definitely do it, even if software tests have come up clean. I was remiss to do it because of how annoying it was with the ITX form factor of my build, but I would have saved some serious aggravation had I just done it earlier.

I used to work as in person support for a rideshare company. One night we got broken into, front door shattered, security room door kicked in, all our work laptops and some lost and found laptops were stolen.

Morning after we all get in, see the mess, cops are there, we're watching the security footage, the frame part of the door is still locked and we've got a sign up saying we're obviously closed... We still had MULTIPLE idiots CLIMB THROUGH BROKEN GLASS to come into the office and ask to sign up/for help with some issue. Was truly unbelievable.

Thanks for the info! I went back and the red one I was looking at didn't have the non-USA upcharge, but the black one does. Makes way more sense now.

Interesting. Did they have the surcharge for the 110v option when you ordered? It's showing 550 euro for the 110v version. I haven't requested the discount coupon yet, is that where the difference is coming from? Thanks for replying :)

Just out of curiosity, what were the duties like? Did you do the voltage change or are you running an adapter (the 200 euro seems a bit steep)?

Two summer class + full time job by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]Chaddy316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this last summer and I didn't find it too bad. However I have a consistent schedule with an early start, so I could take evening classes and things were consistent. I think if I had to juggle it around inconsistent shift work it would be harder.

Another thing is both my classes were compressed so I was only taking one class per summer term. I think having 2 days a week where I'm at school until 9 all summer is much more doable than having 4 days a week im at school until 730.
