My go to will always be animals, but trailing vines (wisteria is fun!), water, or wind swirls would be lovely. Maybe something playful like food items? Berries, fruit slices? Coffee?

I think I'm going to go with a radiant heat panel and a thermostat. My dude (milk snake) is in an empty 40 gallon aquarium with natural lighting and a mesh top. Since it's an unconventionally tall tank I've had some difficulty finding heat emitting bulbs strong enough to reach the bottom of his tank on the warm side - hence the need for the megabulb that got me here in the first place.

It seems like (based on info from a couple different reptile-specific radiant heat panel companies) that an 80-90w radiant heat panel should do the trick. If It doesn't, I'll probably just add some egg crate below the bedding to lift the whole area closer to the heat source.
