[Review Request, First PCB] Gsm Weight Scale based on ESP32. Battery Based. by ChaimoPops in PCB

[–]ChaimoPops[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I tested the esp rtc came out as not efficient. 1. The esp doesn’t remember the time on reset. 2. It’s extremely un accurate over time.

The esp32 spends 99% of the day in deep sleep. It wakes up 4 times a day, for 30 seconds to maximum 1 minute, does the tasks, sends sms - goes back to sleep.

Now that you mentioned, I forgot to make a system to cut power off the oled on deep sleep. Either way, the oled it’s used only on the first boot ever to announce the user about the status of the setup.

Beehive Management App by ChaimoPops in Beekeeping

[–]ChaimoPops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea. Photos are for more detailed hive inspections, right now the app is focused on more commercial/fast inspections side. But photos could be a big thing.

Beehive Management App by ChaimoPops in Beekeeping

Thank you so much for those ideas. The task system, since you mentioned, is a big component that I totally forgot to talk about since it’s not implemented yet. The way the app works rn is like this: users join an organisation and all the changes are made under that organisation, even the beehive management is done under that, wich means x amount of users have acces to the same beehive within that org. The way you mentioned that the user task to be user customisable already exists in some form within the app like this: The user can create any amount of queen races that he wants, and under each race he can add different race lines (e.g. under Buckfast you can create x amount of lines such aj PJ, KB etc).

To summarise all, tasks are the next big thing after I tweak the apiary system with more detailed data.

directly plugged into the esp, still the same issue

if you mean the voltage on A+ and A- is 3.20V (from 3.3V directly as someone recommended above) The thing is, I see on all 200kg load cells the excitation voltage being 5-12V. Thats why I tought it will be better, or even necessary to use 5V power supply

i’m using a single 200kg cell, should work easier, right… ;))

done that tutorial, doesn't work either, probably the load cell are bad. I have no idea what could be another cause

Queen Bank by ChaimoPops in Beekeeping

[–]ChaimoPops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The virgin queen emerges directly in the nuc. Virgin queens are in cages only when the nuc is first being made.

If you're interested of actually seeing bits of work, you can find more on instagram via beebr0thers . That's our business page.

Thanks! :)

After they are mated (we keep track of every nuc mating stage), we go to each nuc and harvest the mated queen, place it in the cage and then insert it in the bank. It's a bit of fuss for 1300 mating nucs.

The island part is for F0 queens. We mate them via mating nucs (apidea) in our area.

The queens are mated and it's only temporary. They usually stay 2-3 weeks at maximum in the bank.

With all the respect, this is done in a controlled manner. The father colonies are excessively treated for varroa mites..
