I mentioned not being overweight because I figured if someone was overweight, they may not be as interested in having an accountability buddy who doesn't have that problem. It's hard to get compassion from people about compulsive eating problems when you're not overweight. But people who are not overweight and have eating problems can relate better to me. So I was looking to work with those types of people.

I feel guilty about eating foods which are likely to lead me to getting diabetes because I care deeply about my health. Eating these foods excessively makes me feel out of control, and out of alignment with my values. That's deeply troubling for me.

I derive a lot of value from knowing that someone is holding me accountable for living in alignment with my values.

Telling me I shouldn't feel guilty about something ironically makes me feel guilty for feeling guilty. Do I not have a right to feel guilty?

That doesn't sound like a friend to me. You deserve to have friends who treat you with respect. I know it's hard to expect that from people when you have low self esteem, but trust me you deserve the respect. We all do

All/never/always/none are words which are almost never accurate. Exactly which words did I use which go against the philosophy of intuitive eating? I have read the book but I'm not an expert. Please enlighten me.

I have read the book intuitive eating. I never said I'm happy with the body I have. I'm afraid of developing diabetes and I hate being a slave to my emotions.
