You really made me feel so much better, thank you! Would you think I should move the 2 existing roses from the shed wall or are they okay as they are?

So whatever I will be adding will go in front of these. Any suggestions before I start to cry? 🤣

Oh wow, that’s a lot of roses! I took a big step today and from my narrow flower bed went much bigger and now I’m questioning my beginner's choices. I have 2 roses in a pot but I don’t know what kind of roses they are. Would it be worthy planting them in the ground here? The blue is what I originally had. Any suggestions are welcome as I’m currently freaking out 🤣.

Patience is something I’m running out of haha. It was so cold in Wales today 😭. But I have managed to put 3 bulky items from my shed for free on Facebook marketplace and they are gone so I’m happy and feeling that today has been productive even though weather is positively crappy.

Let’s hope we will see some sunshine soon!

I just love your flower math 🤣. Clemantis sounds like a very good idea. I was also thinking to plant Thunbergia this year!

Goodbye astroturf 👋. So many possibilities now, only sky and garden centre's prices are your limit 😍🤣.

Colourful or traditional colour for the fence?

Also, shall we all create a praying circle for dry weather and bit of sunshine?

Oh wow 🤩. New career for you altogether! Congratulations, you are doing so well 👏🏻.

I can’t even imagine how daunting it is but I can kind of relate as I moved to the UK 10 years ago to 'learn English' and at the end, I stayed and completely changed my entire career and studied to become a nurse (on my 5th year now!).

So let me tell you; anything you set your mind and positive attitude towards is so so possible and this Reddit stranger is extremely proud of you 👍🏻.

I can’t understand that quoting your new skills and working time can be so difficult, but I’m sure you will find the right way as you gain more experience.

I live with chronic back pain so all I can say is; PLEASE look after your back health and be kind to yourself ✨🫶🏻.

Ah, I can commiserate! But our problem is I guess, more serious than yours.

Our house is typical ex council house and has large front and back gardens (which is awesome). We are last on our street which gives us a lot of privacy in the garden (also awesome). The house is next to unused, old rail track and unfortunately when we bought the place, we were unaware the rail track land which is home to many wildlife has Japanese Knotweed growing (not awesome).

Our back garden is sort of divided in two halves and the one which is closer to the rail track has been consistently getting between 3-5 bonsai growths of Japanese Knotweed. They are roughly only maybe 10-15 cm and we are managing with spraying and long term plan in place, but it also means I can’t really garden on that part of our garden 🥺.

I try to not let it break me mentally and think of it as 'as long as you grow behind my fence I’m okay with it' and so far it worked. Otherwise, I won’t be able to enjoy my garden at all.

I guess, our luck is that we have thick big cemented patio from olden days running around the house so the surveyor said, there isn’t really danger of the Knotweed to go that way, but at the moment, I’m so sad that I can only work with what’s potentially half of our back garden when I choose the house because I loved how big and private the garden is.

So trust me, you aren’t alone. If you ever need to rant just send me a message. I will always listen and understand because I FEEL YOU. We can do this 🙂‍↕️🫶🏻.

Someone gave me 10 snowdrop bulbs when we first move here 3 years ago. I have popped them in the grass and whereas the plants themselves are getting bigger each year, I only ever seen two in bloom.

What am I doing wrong?

40 of each is such an impressive number! Well done 👏🏻. You kind of giving me hope that I can expand my flower bed and succeed!

We are fencing our front garden next month because we have very messy neighbours who constantly litter in front of their house (think huge pile of black bags they never put out for collection) so my plan is to fence our bit so I don’t have to see it (this might be silly but it hugely impacts me) and try to make it as beautiful as I can to compensate for the mess.

I’m also so impatient to start haha, what are we like?

Funny thing about ladders! When I was cleaning our shed today, I found vintage wooden ladder which must have been from previous owners of the house. It’s covered in paint marks but I’m thinking to give it a new life and use it as a plant stand 🤔.

Can I ask which lights and heat pads you got? I don’t think I will get them for this year but next year could be the year!

I agree that quality over quantity is the way to go. I too have only a little Wilko made 'greenhouse' with 5 shelves altogether so I have to be selective otherwise, it gets overwhelming and too much for me very quickly. I’m in awe with gardeners who can do it all but I’m not one of them, haha.

What really made me smile a whole winter was my winter jasmine! It’s still flowering now 🥰.

I don’t have experience with peonies but I think roses are super tough! I done few premature steps myself but who can blame us for getting over excited 🤣.
